that's right. if you're looking to add more rear travel to your b14, i found an alternative to the very rare and hard to find, Motivational Engineering (ME) Rear Strut Mounts.
check my thread for pictures and details. here's the link:

thanks for looking.

i rember the me mounts gaining clearence by having a bushing up top and the nut actually mounting up higher.

now that i think of it, i'm gonna see if i can toss some bushings on there off a skateboard

There's no difference in ride height, it adds an inch of strut travel. Essentially it moves the strut's top nut up an inch, while leaving the spring in the same place.

No, it adds to height because its adding on top of the spring, the bolt is being raised which is adding travel but it also raises the ride height, unless I'm missing something on those strut mounts that are larger then factory meaning they add height. The ME are only about half inch thick but use bushing on top to cause the strut to extend longer, meaning more travel. Unless those mounts are the same size as stock its gonna add height, just like if your spring is not seated properly its gonna effect height a little bit. I might be wrong but those look a little bigger then stock, they also come up around the concave sides but still looks bigger. There also made for coilovers so them being bigger won't effect anything since coilovers are adjustable. Not trying to sound like a dick :D

Ah, I see what you're saying now. They may add like a mm or two in the thickness of the mount itself, but not much at all. This is the only picture I could find of the two mounts together:

The thickness of the side profile of the mounts isn't actually the best indicator either. The rubber upper spring seat on top sits "inside" the dish of the mount. You can kind of see the cutout area in this picture:

When it's all said and done, it's really close.
