: spec v rims??
hyperwhite200 08-06-2002, 10:10 PM went and test drove a spec v yesterday and the only thing that interested me were the se-r emblems, and the rims, would it be cheaper to get the spec rims or an aftermarket rim?, and also, does anyone know about how much it cost to order the new se-r emblems from the dealer???
OnyxEros 08-06-2002, 11:44 PM if your car is not a b15 the rims won't fit
emblems are cheap, get em if you like em

DubuRX 08-07-2002, 12:57 AM B14 = 4x100
B15 = 4x114.5
Won't work:(
I looked into it before.
Tonez 08-07-2002, 01:41 AM i think i payed like 19 bucks for 2 side emblems i think they look good
Tonez 08-07-2002, 01:43 AM those cars are soo tight if u dont mind me askin about how much did u pay for it and how long is the wait on them
Benny Boy 08-07-2002, 01:57 AM The only way I can think of doing Spec V wheels is if you buy G20 hubs and rotors front and back. The lug pattern on those is the same as the new B15 Sentras.

The wait right now on the S is about 18 months... so I'll be waiting for a while...
I'm lovin the Cooper I have!! It weighs less than a classic (although it only has 115 hp...) I'm waiting till it's broken in to test it out... My Mini was about $26k out the door, fully loaded including lo jack and everything but xenon headlights and Navi. The Cooper S will have EVERYTHING and will cost about $28k out the door... Supercharged, 163hp of pure fury, weighing in at about 2550 lbs!
I have nothin against Nissan, But BMW makes a damn fine automobile!! I'm hooked!
metro_se-r 08-07-2002, 06:52 PM you're paying $28K for a car that pushes 163hp and weighs 2500lbs??? I'd rather pay $10K less and get a Spec V. Sorry bro, in my opinion thats a bad choice. A mini is not a BMW.
BORNGEARHEAD 08-07-2002, 10:25 PM I heard when the "Mini Pooper" first was released they had them recalled for the ground strap on the gas tanks. They were just starting on fire. Be careful.:D
Blackbird 08-07-2002, 11:50 PM Too much hype on this damn toaster by the press. It is still not a BMW! The engine made in Brazil, it is not like the company that utilized the BMW engines such as the Land Rover.( what a shame)
It was a joint venture between BMW and Dailmer-Chrysler.
Spec V rims are Bad Ass. But man they are heavy.
DubuRX 08-08-2002, 12:51 AM It's my car... I like it... It is still designed and manufactured by BMW...
I've had a Spec V, and wouldn't choose it over the Mini... The Mini was much better built than any Nissan I've driven.
I never heard about that recall... the only thing I heard was that it would get stuck in 5th gear due to some clip that would come loose, but it's been fixed...
Not only that, the Cooper S that is rated at 163hp is pushed down due to the programming on the ECU... With just reprogramming the ECU, they have been able to get 210 hp(crank) from it, with nothing else...
I'm not paying $28k for 163hp... I'm paying it for everything that the car is made up of... The long list of options on the car more than makes the car far more livable than any Nissan...
I like having Leather, auto a/c, an air conditioned glove box... not cause I need it, but because I CAN!!! I didn't buy the car so that I could go out and race... I bought it so I can sit back and chill... I actually turned down buying a WRX to get it... And I love it!
metro_se-r 08-08-2002, 06:34 AM 210hp??? I want to see a link to believe this. How big is the engine? If you turned down a WRX to get a Mini, then you've lost all your marbles......
DubuRX 08-08-2002, 08:19 AM Why would I need 2 turbo'd cars?? The Mini is for my daily grind... you got problems with what "I" drive?? please...
SE-Romeo 08-08-2002, 08:48 AM I think the mini's are alright, granted they dont have a lot of hp, but i mean I know I'm not racing every one left and right. When I turbo my car and do a lot more stuff to it, I'm going to wnat a car (if i can affford one with the plan mods) just to enjoy as is. The mini is a good choice, i dont much like the looks, but it has a lot of features.
metro_se-r 08-09-2002, 02:31 AM Raser X,
you still havn't answered my question...
-D
DubuRX 08-09-2002, 03:04 AM The Cooper S has a 1.6 Supercharged engine. Stock hp is 163.
Blackbird 08-09-2002, 08:16 AM I agree with Geo, turning down a WRX and Spec V...yeah there are definitely something lost up that cranium.
I have own numerous BMW. They are reliable only if the cash are available. It is very solid body with good and safe features. But a Mini, this thing is overated just like the Beetle when first came out. A 210 SC Mini, I like to see that also...Remember, BMW did not make the engine. Even if it did, a "well reprogram ECU" for an additional 50 hp, must have at least a 2.0 and up for the hp to kick in.
Any way, leave this bro alone. If he enjoy his toaster, that's cool. Go on with the Spec V questions. Damn I wish my wife let me have one soon

sorry bro, the metro in my screen name has nothing to do with a Geo Metro.
DubuRX 08-09-2002, 05:17 PM Who cares who makes the engine or where it's made?? Most of the Japanese cars are made in either Mexico or here, and a lot of companies use other people's engines (ex: celica uses a suzuki engine), so what's your point?? Have any of you people even seen one in person, let alone DRIVEN one?? You people can talk all the shit you want, but until you own one, don't speculate...
My bad... from an i/h/e and a reprogrammed ecu, it pushes about 210 and that was to the crank.
Once again... I'm already going to own a turbo car once the SE-R is done, so the "fast car" is taken care of, I wouldn't buy another Nissan, unless it was a Skyline (that's jmo), and the WRX weighs 3000 lbs and I didn't like it when I test drove it... the interior is sub-par and for the money, I would have had to get the "base" with nothing added. The Spec V is over-hyped... I've heard of so many problems with them, and people having to get brand new engines and paint jobs... and all of this is "My opinion."
And IMO, the MINI is the shit!!
sr20ser 08-09-2002, 06:45 PM WTF? You people are just too damn critical over little things. If RaSERx wants his mini let him. Let me ask you guys this..."How many Nissans have won the amount of titles, and races that a Mini has?" Sure the new Mini is a big hype, but I have driven one. I have also driven a Spec-V (or spec-5 for some), and the Mini is much more livable.
Sure it is not big on hp, but do all of you think 140 to the crank is alot? Damn people, leave him alone...remember what your parent said... "If you don't have something nice to say, say nothing at all".
Please go back to the Spec-V rims, and badges...
