Guys,

I'm starting to have second thoughts on my other project (GTi-R motor swap in the 200). Ever since I bought this classic for $1400, I can't belive how nice the car is. The interior is nicer than my 96, and I took care of my car. The exterior is just as nice, but the dents need to go soon. The A/C is low on freon, where as my other car didn't even have that! And I'm in the process of pricing all the 5th gear parts to get it fixed also.

I'm starting to debate whether I should even keep the 96 anymore. Its taking too long to finish, and I love this car and the way it drives.

Since the other car is paid off, and the motor is 95% complete, I really don't 'want' to get rid of it. But I know that if I finish it, I'm just gonna turn my attention to this one and not care about the 200 and that motor.

I really don't want to put the GTi-R motor in this one, because the motor in this one is already nice and strong. Nevermind the fact that I rather not go through another motor swap.

So here are my choices...

1. Sell the 200 and the motor for cheap so its out of my hair. And take that money, and spend the money on this one to make it a good handler and a little faster. Parts I'd get would be: struts, headers, exhaust, cams, gears, shifter, and 15 inch volk wheels.

2. Sell the 200 and the motor for the price of a comprable F-Max kit. Slap that sucker on the classic and start boosting!!! Get all the other stuff later.

3. Finish the 200 and keep this as a stock daily driver.

What do you guys/gals think? If I sell the 200, I'd want to at least $3800 for the motor and the car. I'll give the person that buys it all the parts that I have. Give me some suggestions people, I'm torn!!! :(

Boy! You're in a pickle. I have a 4th option...

Keep them all, hock a 2nd mortgage on the house and buy a 350Z. :D

Well, you guys are no help!!! If I spend money on one, the other one isn't getting anything... I really don't have the time/money to spend on both cars when they're both running. The classic is such a better car, thats the main reason I'm contemplating all this!

I would recommend to keep them both. Classic would be your daily/beater car and the boosted 200 is your weekend toy.

I'm in the same boat... I'm about $1k away from finishing my turbo project, but I've lost interest since I bought my Mini...

Finish the 200, keep the classic "stock" as your daily driver.

The 200. You could make a killer B13 SE-R with the money, plus it could still be your daily driver.

Hell, mine is.

I'm in a similar situation because I have a truck I've been putting off for years that needs to be finished and out of my garage so I can park the classic in there and I still need to sell the XE. If your 200 is almost done I'd drive the classic until the 200 is finished and then sell the 200 and drive the classic. Once I sell my XE and finish my truck and sell it, I'll have cash to spend on the classic. Like you, I don't want to tear into a nice classic, so I plan to do suspension and brake upgrades, exhaust (only because this one is shot), header, intake, rims, power windows and locks, alarm, mild stereo. T28 with a FMIC, ECU, pullies, flywheel, clutch, later on. Engine craps out, no big deal, Avenir swap and put a T04E on it, maybe some juice to put it over the top. I plan to have my classic for a long time. I may change my mind one day, but I could care less about B14's and B15's, I've always liked classics the best. That's just me though. :)

I have had both a b14 and a b13 and I think that you should keep the classic as a weekender and use that 200 as a daily or just sell the damn thing and get a HF CRX for daily driving. witht he left over cash from the 200 sale use that for bolt ons and a ill suspension on the classic. You said it was in need of some exterior help? Well, get all the dents rolled out and throw some paint on it. I know all about the debate on which ride is better, but you said it yourself, you like the classic more. Why not make it your fun ride, I know that is what I am doing with mine...and getting a CRX for work. I personally do not want two se-rs though. A 240sx and a se-r would be more my style if I was gonna have two sports cars. The HF civic is to help another obsession...good gas mileage.

BEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #2 man, sell the 200 and get a BB sr20det!! It's a direct swap and it will take a shop that knows what they're doing one week tops to do the install. You can get a used bb for $1500 these days and with the left over money slap in a Incon or disco potato T28 ball bearing snail and have fun.

Well, today I called the shop that my car is at. The owner/mechanic thats doing the car answered and I started asking about the car. As usual... "something came up" and he's put it off again. I've been pretty fed up about this whole thing now. The car has been at the shop for 2 months and very little has been done.

I finally told him to put the motor together and just let it sit in the bay, and don't worry about the wiring. He asked me "why?" and I told him that I was selling the car. As soon as he heard that, I guess he realized I wasn't kidding around. He told me to give him until next friday and he'll have it running.

All I really want is to get the fucker running to I know what else I need to finish the project. The motor just sitting there under the car (which is on a lift) doesn't really help the problem.

Anyway, thought I'd share that piece of information with you guys/gals. I'll report back next friday and see if there is any new developments.
