I am getting spark blow out by 16psi off my gt2871r. I bought a used msd 6a. I basically cut the tab off on one of the contacts in the distributor and solder a wire onto it; however, do I need rpm tach driver? or can i just come off of the stock ecu rpm signal wire?

Did anyone screw up the install before? I wonder if it is even worth it. I had the plug gapped to .028" on my bk6re. Got it down to .025" haven't ran it yet, but I want to go up to 20psi and I wonder if .020" gap WITHOUT the MSD would be sufficient.

the best way to really find out is on the dyno.try running bkr8's instead of the stock 6's..that could be the reason right their.also upgrade ur ign from that old 6a to the 6al/dig 7

I have run 20psi on my VET on a .028 gap and no spark blowout. How many people have this problem??? This was at a slightly higher compression ratio though. But still, my old bluebird ran 20psi without a hitch. Both cars were B14.

6 is too hot for turbo I would run 7 @.28 gap.. You would need a tach adapter for the B14
