Ok, since my Avenir motor blew up after driving it for 800 miles, I am forced to either re-build it or buy a longblock and do another swap. Which would be the best approach? For a complete re-build, what would I need, assuming I had bearing failure and threw a rod? What would i need besides:
Overhaul gasket set
Rod Bearings
Main Bearings
Re-grind crank (or use old one out of US SR20)
Head gasket
I can get a BB DET longblock (minus VC and intake manifold) for $850 shipped. I can just swap those parts off of my avenir to my BB DET.
What does everyone think I should do?
