Im not too familiar with the N/A jdm Sr20de's. I am really hooked on the 200sx lately and think *** get rid of my g20.

Anyways the question is this. today I went to a few engine importers and stumbled upon a gem I have yet to see. It was a Low Port Sr20de with the same maroon valve cover as the BB turbos. It had the longer sleeker header hidden beneath the heat shield. It was to my knowldge that SR20's outta japan were all highport until '98 or so? Where would this engine have come from. I assure you it was not tampered with.

If i do this JDM swap in my OBDII 200SX Will the ECU trip since there is no EGR system? I heard the OBDII system is very sensitive? Any one have any experience to share with me?

Any ideas on this RED top N/A Low Port JDM beast?





The same guy also had a rwd sr20 non turbo??? weird!

This is a very rear engine that was made for the English market cars. If you look on the head you will see a stamp in the head UK 89 J. Once in a while for some reason this engine made its way to Japan. Anyway the motor is 10 to 1 compression and it has sodium filled valves. Great motor to spray NOS on, the sodium filled valves are less likely to burn under lean conditions. These are the same valves that come in the SR20DET models. Get the motor it is a great motor.

I completly back up Andreas Miko, and for every one else that wonders if they have a 10:1 this is one sure fire way to know look for a red VC, again I have posted this before.


Question for you CanadianG did you get a good look at the injectors? If so what color did you see? I have seen 2 red top NA FWD SR20DE w/grey injectors just wondering if you seen the same on the 1 you looked at.

You know what, I really didn't look at the injectors. I noticed that there were no EGR accessories but never concentrated on the intake more than that. I have a highport in my car now and had not seen a low port before so it was overwhelming. It looked like a freak SR20 to me because of my ignorance I was determined to find a T-25 hidden under the hear shield and then gave up after searching for a few minutes.

Do you guys know approximately how old these engines would be? Is this OBDII and would it go in to the 200SX?
