I'm planning on installing a cold air intake on my '93 SE-R any thought as to who has the better one, Place Racing or AEM?

They're both good intakes, but I've heard nothing but good things about the AEM CAI as far as power produced. Notice how I said CAI, which does not include the bypass valve. I don't have any experience with the bypass valve, but there seems to be a negative attitude towards it. Take a look at this thread: http://www.nissanforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=604&highlight=ponies

Just my thoughts

I want to see dyno charts for the two before I spend 50% more for the AEM.

I haven't checked lately, but about a month ago on groupbuycenter.com (http://www.groupbuycenter.com/) you could get an AEM CAI for $200 and free shipping.

buy a used PR, they both serve the same purpose one just cost more because of the name, if one has a hp gain over the other it probably will be very minimal gains. but its your wallet. u can get PR CAI's used on most ser related websites. i love mine, its almost 4 years old and ive never ever had a problem. go PR.. :D

I personally have driven 2 SE-Rs stock with a CAI as the only mod.

One had the AEM and one had the PR (mine).

They both felt about the same and both made the same sweet noise.

When I looked that I spent over 100 bucks less.

I gave the PR the award :)

Just more data-
The newer PRs don't have a gauze/oil filter. It's some kind of foam. Monster flo maybe?
The AEMs G/O filter is not a K&N.

I don't think there are any recent third party dyno charts for either of the latest versions.

As for availablity, there seems to be just as many AEMs being sold second hand judging from all the posts about how they got their AEM so cheap.
I've heard 200new in a GB. 175, 150, 140, 100 paid for a used AEM.

I think it is a toss up, just find the best deal.

According to sr20de.net the best way to go is a PRI and the stillen/JWT pop charger on the end. I actually had both, and put them together...the filter that comes with the stillen/JWT setup is significantly bigger than the K&N that came with the PRI.

If you want to run the POP charger with the PRI, you have to get an extra MAF adaptor from PRI which they charged me another 30 or so bucks for. Sucks, but I had to try it out. It definately pulls better than my old "Stillen in the hot engine bay" filter and I'm guessing that it's probably better than the AEM but then again, AEM is CARB legal, the PRI is not.
