Can I run my 10:1 without the JWT ECU?

I may get my ECU reprogrammed, and I have access to a regular ECU, but I need to make sure this was safe.

If not, would lowering my timing down to, say 15 degrees, be a safeguard?

The difference between 10-1 and 9.5-1 is minimal do not worry about it you will be fine. Trust me I have put together alot of these motors in cars with np problems what so ever.
