: 1991 SE-R for sale in Detroit - not running, but easy project

Car for sale is a 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R, which I took to fcalling the Garage Queen. It is for sale in its current (non-running) condition. I would rather have fixed the car before selling it, but I obviously have higher priorities because I haven’t done it yet, so I am selling it as-is because I would rather just get it out of the garage, and my Fiat in one.

The car has about 112k on the odometer. It is black, stock except for an aftermarket stereo and Tokico blue struts. It has cruise control and a sunroof, no airbags or ABS. It originally had AC but the system was removed before I got the car. When the car was driven, it drove very well for a stock B13 SE-R, with a strong motor (good compression) and tight-for-stock suspension.

Other than being needing a good cleaning-out and vacuuming (which I will do before sale), the Interior is in good shape save for a warped IP at the front edge and slightly tatty sun visors. Body has one rust hole about the size of a softball in the right-hand rocker panel at the weld seam, but otherwise has no rust – fedner bottoms, rest of rockers, wheel lips, etc. are all good. Body is straight and the car does not appear to have been in any majot accidents, although one front fender appears non-original (paint, anyway) as it is missing the pinstripe.

The car currently sits on a set of steel wheels with snow tires (185/60-14 Blizzaks with about ½ tread) but I also have the original wheels on old Dunlop D60A2s with low but usuable tread. I will include both if offering price is high enough, otherwise your choice.

The car currently does not run. It died while being driven one day in 2002 and has not been driven since. It had full electrical power and would barely crank on the first try, but would not start. I have done some diagnostic work on the car, and a bad starter is the most likely culprit. Nominally easy but galvanic corrosion means the starter body needs some leverage to get off the bell housing. Currently the car does not have a battery.

I got this car for my then-GF in 2001 and it has been sitting around since 2002. For kicks, see Car & Driver, September 1999, p. 141 for the car’s previous life.

Asking $950 obo. Let me know if this is a bit silly, but seems reasonable given that, while it is non-running, it is not a big project and is a good car when done.
