I think you may only be about the second person to even purchase the electric water pump kit. I've seen it installed, and yes, it is in the way of the compressor inlet. They did this so you could use the stock hose. You may have to make a new bracket and assemble some new radiator hoses to make it work properly. Alternately, you may need to fabricate a new compressor inlet.

Also, just because it wasn't engineered for your application doesn't make it a POS. No matter where they mount it, its going to be in the way of somebody's setup. They chose the placement that would require the least amount of modification for a user to install, in the most common SR20 US configuration. (normally aspirated). That kit is far from being a pos, it looks to be well constructed and engineered, other than the construction of the flimsy mounting bracket.

good luck

Do you have the part number?

What does the kit include? replacement for the waterpump pulley or what did you do with it

I have seen honda waterpumps that give you a free flowing pulley that has no guts... Is that how this kit is?

this kit comes with a block of plate (no pulley) then if you are running power sterring you will have to get a shorter belt.I am not runnig power sterring. I coverted it to manual so I just have to run an alt belt #mez-wpk510 289.95

ya know, I forgot to think when I posted earlier about using the stock hose... You have a 200sx, which has a different hose shape on the driver's side. I believe the early hose will fit perfectly if you cut it in the middle and trim to fit. a 91 or 92 hose shouldn't be more than 10-20 dollars.
