Ok, besides being lowered and nice wheels, my car looks very stock. Now im throwing in the Jdm and all the bolt ons including the high flow cat im already running. Now i want to keep up the "sleeper" look but im gonna be cranking out more power and exhaust flow from my engine. In order to take advantage do i have to go with an aftermarket exhaust system? how well would the air flow be if i just had all my piping put up to 2 1/4"? And if i need to go aftermarket what is a low profile muffler? I'm putting out quite a bit of $$$ on the swap and parts and am not gonna spring for an HKS or greddy catback, so what muffler is a really high quality grade that will be somwhat quiet but release the power close to a catback system?

make sure you run a resonator with the cat, then most decent brand mufflers will work fine and not be too loud at all.

i would suggest a magnaflow. i had one put on me car and was impressed. I expected it to be loud, but it wasn't. it's pretty quiet for a straight through muffler. i don't know the exact part number, but it's the only one that sort of resembles the stock muffler that is straight through with a perforated core. i have recived complements on the way my exhaust sounds.

click my sig. :)

BTW, you may want to check into remus, if you are looking for quiet. i had the remus muffler pointed out to me (thanks geo) and from the research I have done, that would be my next muffler. right now i have the OE muffler on (quiet) mated to a header and catback.
