I'm not really sure what you are wanting to know. Are you wanting to know what a tranny looks like? or wanting to know how to tell if its a sr20 tranny?

i'm sorry if i wasn't clear on the question.

e.g. if there are 3 different engines with 3 transmissions next to it. how do you find out which transmission goes with which engine??

this bolt lines up with, this engine, this bolt lines up with, this engine.

If you have a GM 3800, the odds are you wont be hookin up a SR20DE tranny.

Unless you are god.

There should be a tag of some sort on the tranny that you can look at for a number. For example, the manual tranny for a B13 GA16DE was the RS5F31A and the auto tranny was the RL4F03A. The manual tranny for a B13 SR20DE was the RS5F32V and the auto tranny was the RE4F03V. The tag for these transmissions are as follows. For the autos, it is located on the governor cap, for the 32V it's on the shift lever on the transmission, and the 31A it's located just left of the shift cable bracket on the transmission. Don't know if this is the info you want, but there it is nonetheless.

Look for an Adam's apple or manly fore-arms.
