Hey Everyone,

So I'm beginning to prep the nx for the track. I've been driving her around and noticing i'm only getting 15mpg. What is involved in a tune up for the sr20 motor? Oil, Plugs, Timing belt? What else?

Also I'm looking at the brakes and it looks like the pins that let the caliper float around have gone bad. These are the proper replacements correct? http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?parttype=351&ptset=A&searchfor=Caliper+Bolt%2fPin

Thanks!

they dont have timing belts. throw in a fuel filter, cap, rotor, wires. Get all genuine nissan parts

If the pins are bad I'd be checking out the entire brake system to ensure that there isn't something else wrong. You want your brakes in perfect condition before heading out to the track. Old info, but if this is the first time you're working on your NX2000s brakes you'll need it. AD22VF brakes, if they ask it's with ABS. Even if your car doesn't have ABS - say it does. This is only for the NX2000. It will save you grief and incorrect parts.

I haven't removed the pins yet. It could just be in need of greasing, but i figured I might as well replace them while I'm at it. Thankss for the heads up on the abs.

If your fuel econ is THAT bad, check out your O2 sensor. It might be junk or on it's way out, making it run rich as shit.

Otherwise, OEM replacement plugs/wires/cap/rotor/timing as stated above.

Didn't do any of the brake work, but the tune up was done today. Ordered the parts from courtesy nissan in texas. GREAT PRICES! At least so I think. I paid 120 with tax and shipping for the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. The car idles and runs much smoother now. It also has a tad more response and maybe power. I also seafoamed through the vac line too. Very good results and I'm very excited to see the results of this on the mpg. Thanks everyone!

P.s. I use to throw an engine code, but when I check it its the egr. I had to remove the pipe that goes from the header to wherever. But this shouldn't effect gas mileage by cutting it in half will it?
