I noticed that Nippon motors in Cali. is offering det's for a decent price and am wondering if anybody had purchased their det from them. Did they meet your expectations? Were you happy with the purchase from them? Please let me know.

I purchased a jdm motor from them and have been absolutely thrilled with the motor, it runs real strong and good, doesnt burn oil-its mint. I think they sell the dets for like 1400 or something like that too.

Hey I just went to thier site and they say $975 for a FWD sr20det, is this wrong? If this the right price that is a really good deal. you also said $1400 so maybe the price as gone up, since the price they have on thier website, but shit even 1400 is good deal. I think I am just gonna buy a motor now. and take all the turbo goodies off of it instead of buying an JGY kit because his kit is 1200.

Thanks for the replies. I saw $975 and my jaw dropped. In the past I was looking into a jdm sr20de and it was like $615 shipped. I am going to have to get hold of them. I am really interested in getting an Avenir det. Maybe they can get one for me.

Yeah, ever since I've known they been at that price $975.00 for a very long time at least a year and they'll do a leak down and compression test for you and in front of you. And for the person that bought a JDM SR20DE for $615.00 you got took, sorry. I would never pay more than $350.00 for DE ever. You can get DE's for as low as $275.00 and I know a place down the street that sell them for $350.00 9:5:1 and $450.00 10:1 burgandy VC UK engines.

It was a 10:1 jdm sr20de for $450. The $615 was shipped. It was $165 for shipping.

Do they carry the Avenir det's? I e-mailed them today. But am anxious to find out.

Called them yesterday. They said they had no BB det's. I'm guessing that's Aveniers included. They also said no VE's. Darn.

yes I deffinately think I am going to buy a complete motor for my turbo swap, for 975 you just cant beat it even if it is a t25 not to mention all the extra stuff it comes with. you could make more off of the motor just selling parts of it. Plus I really like the red valve cover. hey does anyone know if the s13 RWD sr20det valve cover will fit on the FWD SR20?

$975 sr20det motor with all the turbo equiptment off of it
JWT ECU $550
hotshot intercooler and downpipe kit $1100
=fast car!

I think 1400$US for a DET is way too high of a price. I got my BB DET for 1500$CAN, which is a little less than 1000$.

Shop carefuly guys.

I was #1 on the waiting list to receive a BB DET from Nippon about 4 months ago. After two months of waiting (they kept telling me to call back when new shipments arrived). To this day they have still not called me to let me know they have received one, I am just curious if they ever will call me. I finally purchased a DET from another supplier and received the engine in 4 days. About 2 1/2 months ago they did call me about a GTiR motor in stock and they offered it to me for $1615, but when I was trying to purchase a BB DET from them the price was $975 and $175 to ship it to Kentucky. If you can get a DET from them more power to you. My experience with them was more of a hassle than anything else. Someone shouldn't promise you something that they don't have or don't have the ability to get. I have also heard mixed reviews from the motors received from them, one person I know with a shop got a stock of 9 from them and 2 or 3 were bad (the shop wouldn't sell them to anyone). If I were you, I would get the engine from a reputable supplier that has it in stock, pay the extra money for some security.
