i have 92 se-r and i was wondering if anyone has done any modification to their stock ecu to remove the rpm speed limiter?

Why?

just asking cause people assume to remove their rpm limiter to go faster, that's what i heard.

I am pretty sure the only way to raise you rpm limiter is to get the ecu tuned by jwt, or calum, but unless you build your engine for high rpm's i believe you would do more harm than good. Correct me if i am wrong but b13's are not speed limited so you dont need to remove the"governor".

I heard my B15 Sentra SE trim with the SR20, has a speed limiter at 116mph. Is this true? I have had my car at 125mph and it was still pulling in 5th gear and i didn't hit any limiter (is mine disabled?).... Can some one shed some light on the subject.

What's wow. I forget where I read but it supposidly has a speed limiter. I'm fine with the rev limiter. I was just curious.

91-93 have no speed limiter(i know since i have taken it past the 150mph mark). the 94 and up OBD2's may have some sort of a cut off so you dont have to worry about it.

I think nismo23 is talking about removing the rev limiter which I am interested in as well. I have a 98 sentra SE and neither Calum or JWT will work with a 98+ ECU. And I could give a damn about the speed limiter as I don't really plan on going that fast in a Sentra. I just want to be able to rev up to 7100 RPM so I can run some S3's. Guess I need to do some more in-depth searching cause I know it's possible and all it involves is a resistor. I've seen the thread before.

i'm talking about removing the rev limiter, the rpm, not the mph to see how fast can u go max, i'm talking bout removing the rev limiter so u can rev all the way whenever u want to shift into gears.

Why? 500 RPM's more than b13 redline can be dangerous territory. Youre not making any more horsepower after 6400 rpm so why do you need to raise it or remove it (unless you're making huge power, but it doesn't sound like you are)? nissan already set a great shift point for you straight from the factory

I raised my rev limit to 7800rpm on my gti-r motor, but won't really be reving that high. The reason I did it was because I'll definitely be getting cams soon and just wanted the extra rpms incase I need them and I think the gtir head is plenty capable of handling 7800rpm. I am also using a bbt28 instead of the stock gtir turbo, so I'll be making more power then the stock gtir t28.

I'll see what happens at the dyno and where the power starts to go down.

jonwepa how did u raised your rev limit to 7800?
