: Question for 10:1 Jspec High port owners?
MarkSR20 08-12-2002, 04:59 AM I am thinking about doing this swap into a B14 in the next couple of months and I was wondering what to look out for? I heard I have to use the intake plenum on the car now??? Is there anything else to do with the wiring or any other electrical crap in the car??? Thanks again and have a good one!
stensland 08-12-2002, 08:44 AM I did the swap on a 93 G20. I had to take the intake and exhaust manifolds off the old engine and put them on the new one. I also needed to swap out the motor mount on the passanger side of the car. The fuel rail was damanged on the JDM motor I bought so I used the one off the original motor as well. There may have been some other minor things as well, but that is all I remember. I did not need to swap any of the electrical components they just plugged in (many of them were on the original intake and exhaust manifolds). However, it may be a bit different for the B14.
FastNX 08-12-2002, 08:43 PM I'm pretty sure that you cannot put a B14 intake manifold on a high port motor. Actually im very sure. Ther are also some distribure wiring issuesd from a B13 to a B14 motor.....
DaGenesis 08-12-2002, 11:28 PM well you can put a b14 cai intake on the b13 motor.
you probably will have some cooling issues.... check the thermostat and make sure its opening, and swap the temperature sensors if needed.
FastNX 08-13-2002, 08:15 AM well you can put a b14 cai intake on the b13 motor.
he isnt talking about a CAI he is talking about the intake manifold itself, shich will NOT work
MarkSR20 08-13-2002, 11:54 AM Thanks for the replies. My girlfriends car is the one that is going to be operated on. I am thinking of picking up the motor in a few months and going from there. I know that the owner of Jay Hass's old car has a Jspec motor in it, I am going to throw some questions that way. I also forgot about Kjopi. If you guys could post some comments to the subject that would be great. Thanks again and have a good one! Hopefully I will have some pics of both cars up today or tomorrow!

yea it will
SmoothDaddyFig 08-13-2002, 07:51 PM Mark,
Are you switching manifolds for emisions purposes?
I have a 94 SE-R, it was a low-port of course, and I just dropped the JDM high port right in. No emisions stuff. You can't beat the 149.8 wheel HP, baby!!! High port is the way to go in my opinion.
Good-luck.

I low port intake manifold will in no way, shape, or form fit on a high port head. The only B13 that a low port intake manifold will fit on, is a '94. The '94 is the only low port B13.

I second that.
MarkSR20 08-13-2002, 11:36 PM Thanks for the feedback everyone!
She just picked the car up and the motor has been rebuilt! The car has 105k on it and I think the kid before ran juice without the injector program for it so he blew it up the first time! I just want that motor out of the car and the Jspec in. She needs the car for a daily driver and I figured why the hell not put a good motor in there for the rest of the cars life. She wants to drive this one until it dies so that gives me time to get the Jspec. It would be nice to just have a jspec on the side to have some fun with. She is not worried about emissions crap because our emissions stations in CT shut down for a long long time! If this motor just drops in then it will hopefully be a piece of cake! Please anybody with more comments on this swap join in!!! Have a good one everyone and thanks for the feedback!

Your'e right, I was referring to the CAI, not the manifold.
