Well, my Pacesetter exhaust was great until it started to rattle. Swapped muffler for a stainless 3A Racing on mechanic's advice; rattle went away, but GOOD LORD was it loud. Here's the solution:

What you see here is the 3A attached to the PS tubing. I still think that for NA applications the PS is hard to beat - mandrel bent for $160.

Here's the resonator on the PS unit. It's louvered, which is good (for sound deadening), but it's also small, which isn't so good.

Thrush to the rescue! Here you see the Thrush perforated glasspack we've all come to know and love (24201); to make extra sure the car would shut up I had the welder stick the PS resonator in where the piping heads for the passenger side.

Result? No more bleeding from the ears. I can even hear the intake again. :D :D

CSNY

anyway, i was going to say your muffler rattle was due to it hitting the tow hook but you took the tow hook off.. nice moves.

also i liked how you secured the joint in the PS catback.. great idea..

i've gotten compliments on how my car sounds with the pacesetter header and catback.. then again they were outside observers not subjected to riding inside the car..

My car never had a tow hook that I know about...

As far as securing the joint, it came with the U-bolt crush connectors, so that's what I used.

Thanks for the compliments, but what the heck is CSNY?

Crosby, Stills (sp.), Nash and Young.

Greg wins, as usual. I should have figured out the CSNY, but it is most definitely NOT them...

"Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again, "

*light bulb on*

You know, I didn't even recall the name of the post. That makes sense. Simon and Garfunkel makes much more sense now.
