My car has been doing this for about a month now. When I am accelerating between 3 and 4,000 rpm's or so in 3rd or 4th gear or even at around 2-3000 rpms in 5th, my car vibrates. I used ES inserts for the passenger side and front torque mount but the other two are the stock mounts.
Anyone know what the problem could be?

I hope that I'm just confused. You used the ES insert for your dogbone and the front(passenger) side of the engine and the others are the original? If this is correct, why did you do it this way?
From my experience, and from all the research I did, the dogbone and firewall should have the torque mounts and the front(passenger) and back(driver) should have the OEM. Unless of course you have a monster engine, then solid mounts all the way around.
The side mounts don't do much of anything for the engine, other than helping stay in the bay. The torque mounts keep the engine from slopping/flopping forwards and backwards, allowing you to put more torque to the wheels.
If you only have the one ES insert for one of the torque mounts, sounds like you're only get half the job done.
I've got the ES inserts for the dogbone and firewall, and replaced the OEM front and back mounts with new OEM mounts. It made a world of difference... no more slop and very little vibration. I do notice that in 4th gear btwn 50-60mph, the engine gets a little buzzy, and in 5th gear btwn 60-70mph, the same. This is just some resonance from the engine, once past those speeds with those gears, it goes away. As far as I know, it's not indicative of any problems.

I suppose that could be the problem. The reason I put them in that way was because I had originally ordered torque mounts from Summit but they sent me the side mounts instead. I had a place try to put them in and they only did the pass. side mount because they said the other one "did not fit".
So then i ordered the correct torque mounts and tried putting them in harriedly after helping a friend do a DET swap. I got the dogbone one in fairly easily but I found the rear mount almost IMPOSSIBLE to squeeze in where it mounts. After a long while I just gave up trying and so I've been going with only the two I described ever since.
Perhaps if I ever get the rear insert in the problem won't be so bad?
BUT THEN AGAIN...
I think the vibration may have started even BEFORE I put the inserts in. So any other ideas of what it could be?

Ryan, getting the torque firewall mount in is a big PITA. I actually did my 3 other mounts in less time than it took to do the firewall mount. The hardest part is getting it started. Once you have the lips in, you just have to push like hell... course it helps that I sprayed it liberally with lithium grease. Get an extra set of hands, because once you get it up, you'll need help from someone to line up the bolt hole... that was truly the biggest pain.
As far as you car vibrating, eh. I still think if you get the mounts in for better balance, most of it will go away. You've got the ES insert on your passenger(front)mount. This communicates more engine vibration into your chassis when the engine resonates at those rpms.
See if you can't get your mounts set up with the 2 torque and OEM set ups. I think you'll get the same buzz that I get from my car... it's just the engine resonation.
Of course, this is all just my opinion... good luck.

what kind of vibration? like dash rattles, or like the steering wheel shaking and shimming back and forth?
if your mounts were bad, it could have lead to premature failure of your cv joints and thats the vibration. i know its happened with my car. one reason why im not buying another axle until i get my motor mounts replaced.

I just did the firewall torque mount today on my buddy's car. I didn't think it was hard at all...it was just a little confusing postioning them the right way because I didn't remove the crossmember so I was kind of blindly trying to press them in. But, they went.

Chris, how in Krists's name did you get the ES inserts in w/o removing the crossmember? I'm trying to visualize this.... must be getting old, *** I can't,lol.
I've got to take my firewall insert out again. The bolt that holds the shifter bushing in is crammed into the insert, which sometimes makes it difficult to shift, especially into reverse. Once I remove the insert, I'm going to have to shave that side down, then reinstall. Maybe your method would be easier.
