my damn a/c compressor squeals like a pig when it is engaged, this all started *i think* because i degreased the engine... how can i stop it? its ONLY at idle, and when its engaged....

That degreaser might have left residue on the belt or pully. That shit stinks until it all burns off the engine, which it seems to take forever to do and no matter how well you rinse, it's still on there. I'd just spray it with some belt dressing, see if that helps.

It could also be a loose bolt holding the compressor which causes it to not sit properly, causing the belt to squeal because it's not centered on the pulley.

It could also be your compressor going out. I ran mine low on freon and it burned it up! Made a hellacious noise in the end, but before it went out it just squealed specially when cold.

hey loe lyf, tell me more about the ac comp being off centered causing it to fuckup... i have this problem on my other nx, and i tried tightening the two bolts on the bottom of it but didnt seem to fix the problem.

-can i do something to the pulley itself on there? its gotten to where if i drive too long now the belt starts to burn because of the slight off angledness of the ac pulley (smoke scares me now).

it pisses me off now, i hate the smell of burnt belt.

The actual compressor could be broken where the bolts enter, therefore not helping when you tighten the bolts. I'm sure the pulley could also be tightened, but I'm not sure.
