I was wondering all of your thoughts on these powerful front drivers you are building... What's it like? What would you do different?

Driving a FWD turbocharged car is a kick in the nutts to say the least. If I had to do it all over again, I would got RWD ;)

It's like warm apple pie.... :D

For real, though...the turbo action is awesome on the highway when you need the power. It renders downshifting unnecessary. Just give a little gas and you're boosting and passing cars with such ease, it's ridiculous. Hard lauches suck, but once you get going, it's fun.

My next project - a 97-98 240sx. So pretty and a DET drops right in.

Its a whole new world of cars and cars to race too. Boost is the way to go and its not cheap. But...bewteen FWD and RWD...The FWD will have less power train lose. The RWD has more power train lose, but it will launch alot better. But both are crazy nutz. Im running a BB DET in my '97 200SX SE-R, and its no joke.
At stock boost a night ago. I ran on a new TransAm and he had a cam and exhaust...

That's the first thing that came to my mind after seeing the topic. Damn you!!!!

I also have a se-r and a BB det. I didn't put my engine in yet cause i'm getting some work done on it. It should be really healthy when done.;)

It is confidence-inspiring, any time the engine is running. :D

If you've never been in a boosted car, I'll take a modified quote from a movie.

"***** can tell you what boost feels like, you have to feel it for yourself." ;)

It's like.....the wings of angels

It's how the car was meant to be built.

Cheers,
Charlie :)

You know it was all worth it when you scare the sh*t out of your friends and even surprise yourself sometimes.
It makes me smile when folks with 9 second cars are impressed with the se-r.

i agree with nearly everything said above. its not cheap, and i havent broke anything yet. also i cant describe the face of a mustang gt or s2000 driver when i am passin them. if i could change something, i would do the 97-98 240 to det swap. those cars are truely beautiful. but i love my 200, i just think a 240 would be very fun to play with.
