SR20DE reliability:
Last year, (Sept 2001) we threw a connecting rod in our built N/A engine in our Race Car. (Some of you have seen the HP and Torque numbers for this engine, those that haven't, do a search). With only two more race weekends to go and second in the points, we needed to at least show up for the last two races. What to do, what to do. So we hjad this old wrecked NX with 231,000 km on it that the engine still ran in it(the body was falling off). So, overnight engine swap, swap C3 cams springs and retainers in over the following week, and we make the next weekend, finish the race in 2nd, lock up the points, and decide to go turbo for 2002. Well, the turbo build is not going so well(Budget constraints, parts availibility etc, etc.) So we decided to run the car as is with the tired old engine. 9 race hours later it is still going strong, doesn't use ANY oil and has placed 4th, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in class. I'm really curious how far it will go. Turbo goes in in 2 weeks(GTi-R)
