well, i just bought a 92 NX2000, black. it needs a lot of work, but will make for a good project car as im starting college for auto tech in less than a week. It has some body damage on the drivers side door/rear fender. so i will jhave to somehow cut a portion of the rear fender out(thanks god it doesnt connect to the roof) and weld a new peice in. it also has rust on the windsheild A pillars. the day after i drove it home (yesterday) from chicago, i put a rod throught eh block. great. must'
ve had a spun bearing or something. but i have another sr20 short block lined up with an install facility, so well see how it goes.
the car doesnt have t-tops either.
later on ill be looking for a lot of parts, as the hedlights are cracked, fog lights smashes, etc....................
ill kepp yal posted onb the progress..........

Cool, Man.
You will find that mechanically the SR20 cars
are pretty easy to work on. Once she is
running, with proper maintenance, she will
keep going for a long time.
Body parts will take a little more work to
dig up just because the cars are somewhat rare.
Check some of the online junkyards for the
best price.

My favourite is the oil filter positioning... nothing like the joys of getting that thing out every 3-5k miles...
Enjoy the car!
No t-tops, eh? Rare...

yeah, thats the main reason why i bought er. besides the fact that its black/black. my fav. yeah, i have a 97 se-r. the filter is a biatch. well, the ac doesnt work in the nx, so its coming out. filter replacement will be much easier witout that ac piping there.

Yeah my AC is a bit slow going but once it goes it goes well enough to keep it around.
Every time I go to change the oil filter I cut my right hand in the same damn place and no amount of swearing ever makes me feel any better. One of these days I am going to do a little dance if I don't get that cut across the top of my hand... Too much shit crowded in there... stupid design...
Anyway, I am sure the NX will be a kick for you... looking forward to hearing about the progression of improvements... hmm, one of my fog lights is cracked too... still have to get around to replacing that buger...

yeah, its a bitch, like i said. i usually take a hammer and a flat-head screw driver and tap at the side of the filter to loosen it (withough hopfully breaking it) and then just unscew it by hand once the seal is broken. my ac lines have never drawn blood-if they do they'd be done........;)

JDM-
When you replace your fog light covers ( I think you are doing that?), I'd love to know where you find them at a good price... One of mine took a rock a few years ago and I need to replace it.
Thanks,
Anna

If you haven't looked yet, I'd recommend pulling the plastic panels off the rear strut towers to look for rust - if you've got A-pillar cancer, there's a real good chance you've got strut tower cancer.
This should be fixed - it's structural and determines your baseline alignment (and the life of your car). Just watch out for heat warp when you're welding...
