so im looking at a couple of local '98 -'99 Sentra SE's to buy both are automatics, ya i know but i do alot of driving and i want an automatic. lol if i want to go bang the gears i will drive my p11 :) my question to you peeps is what type of gas you guys getting on them? i know the factory specs, but that doesn't include the occasional led foot.
THANKS
Yo.. been driving my 99 sentra lately (with new knock sensor, 19 degree timing) most of the bolt on's (CAI,header,2.25 exhaust piping - stock muffler) and some extras to help out my auto trannie (cam gears, 91 cams) .. this setup with a good suspension (got tein ss, and ad22 brakes) will make a car that you can drive WAY harder than a manual. This thing rev's up to 6k without a sweat in every gear. Occasionally I'll pull along some crazy kid on some crotch rocket .. and I always notice gearing is almost the same. You'll want to run synthetic ATF and oil, as well as keep an eye on your transmission pan/fluid on a regular basis.
That being said.. i get around 17 to 22 mpg city driving (this is in hilly -as - heck san francisco) and around 25- 31 highway.. back when I had zero mods I was getting a lot better (and driving 10 times slower) I think I could get it up to 35 freeway / 25 city (this is closer to factory specs.)
While I do miss the mileage, this car is a lot of fun to drive around town. If I had to do it over .. sure I'd get a manual 99 sentra se.. and turn it into a track slut, but keep driving the automatic as a DD.
THANKS
