So I finally got the SE-R out to the track last night to see how it would do. I don't have slicks or drag radials yet, and don't have LSD.

I think this is too funny

First run, Pre-load to try and get 60' times within reason. Know it's not going to happen on street tires fully inflated (they're hard sidewalled, so deflating doesn't really help.)

60' - 2.8
MPH - 108
ET - 15.1

Second run, didn't pre-load, because I was impatiently waiting on them to spray VHT. (I'm the first car in the box after a fresh coat of VHT. VHT + Street tires = FAIL!) Ran against a T55 Volvo (AWD turbo). I told him how to launch, and he did it PERFECTLY. He was MUCH happier with his car. He obviously caught me out of the box by a car to a car and a half. I couldn't catch him because everytime I rolled into boost, I'd spin like MAD. I feathered for control as much as possible, and couldn't get solid traction until fourth. Once I hit fourth, I dug in and he was around 4 cars ahead of me. I was pulling on him something FIERCE. He told me afterwards that all he heard was turbo spool from my car, and he started to panic. He finished ahead of me at 15.7.

My times: again
60' - 2.9
MPH - 109
ET - 16.05 :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I even had a passenger in the second run with me, and he caught a video. He said it was madness how bad the car was all over the track. I drifted so much in the lane that at one point in time I came about 12" from the wall :eek2:

Anyhow, like I said, our track sucks. No traction, piss poor preparation, etc. etc. etc. Hopefully next time I'll be on slicks with an LSD gearbox.

wow... i think you should see how much time would come off that 1/4 run with a nice pair of slicks or street drag tires;)

Yessir :D That's what's next on the list. My wife couldn't understand why I was laughing so hard when I got home. I told her that the car is making the power, judging from the trap speeds, and that I can't keep traction to save my life. She approved of me getting slicks and an LSD, so those are coming soon :biggthump

do you think you would get better times/traction on the street or will it be the same?

Nah, I know I hook better on the street than on the track. Probably has something to do with the track being 100% concrete. Asphalt seems to allow for better stick, to me.

I can pull out onto the access road from the track, light it up, and get traction damn near 100%. Gets me onto the highway where the speed limit is 75, with no slippage whatsoever.

Thanks  Did a few calculations, and I honestly think I'm sitting on 118, give or take a couple mph. One of the shop techs that was there last night said the car sounded SUPER good, and looked just monsterous, but I couldn't hook for shit and a lot of ppl in the stands were kinda freaked that this little silver ugly thing actually went anywhere

What all is done to your car? I went to the the closest track and was wondering if these were good numbers on a stock SR20DE with minor ebay modz like intake and exhaust.

60' - 2.4
MPH - 86
ET - 15.3

Too much to list, to be honest. My times suck because I have no traction thru 4th. Lets just say that it's fully built, and turbocharged. I need at a minimum, slicks, in order to hold down power to the track. Otherwise, no matter what I do, I'm spinning until I get into 4th, almost at the end of the track. (Keep in mind your ET and trap speed vs. my ET and trap speed)

took her out again tonight and deflated the tires, and still didn't hook for nothing. Definitely need slicks or at least good street tires. Any recommendations for street legal stickies?

if you want something kinda cheap and good I'd buy a pair of 205-55-14 nitto nt555r I had a set they held up ok, but I was just on a t25 ***. some bfg drag radials are a bit better *** or some m/t's drag radials also very good. great trap speeds by the way. :biggthump

Thanks :) I'm looking for something in a 16" wheel, sorry I should have mentioned that. I keep looking at the Azenis RT-615's, and KDW NT's, but I'm still kinda wondering if I should just get slicks on Lensos. I was going to order them on Friday but I'm holding off for now.

The only reason I really don't want to go slicks just yet, is because I don't want to worry about tranny issues on the track, considering I don't have a truck and trailer just yet. It's a 99 P11 tranny, non-lsd. I worry about the 3rd gear separation that everyone mentions.

I will be picking up a 94 Del Sol S in the next week or so, so I'll have a daily in case I do break a tranny. Damn decisions! Sticky tires for daily driving/track time, or slicks? :eek2:

Oh, and my trap speeds were 110 and 111 last night, may be because of the cooler weather. I'm wondering if I should go max stiff in the rear and see how that helps for keeping the weight in the front, and softening the front one notch on the AGX's.

Almost forgot to mention:

I tried out dynolicious on the iPhone last night, and it was damn near close to my timeslip (I missed third that run, too), and it reported right at 400whp. I'm wondering how accurate that is? They say that this software is pretty damn accurate, but idk. That's higher than I was expecting with the setup I have.

^^^^ Interesting. I still haven't tried my dynolicious software yet. I can't find a safe place to try it out and I need to find a way to secure the phone. Did you buy a mount for your iphone? How do you keep the phone steady and straight where you can see it clearly.

I got one of those sticky pads that goes on the dash. Phone doesn't move one ioda. Only thing that's tricky, is that the car's a little rough at idle, so the phone takes a while to calibrate. If I hold it in my hand, it almost immediately goes into Accelerate mode and logs.
