I called Hotshot to get a price on the piping kit for the T25 setup and this guy that doesn't know shit answers the phone and I can here fumbling through papers looking for the answers to my simple questions. Granted I know just about every company has one of these guys but DAMN. The guy first told me the price was $925 for the HKS IC and the piping then he says to call back and talk to a tech because John (owner) is on vacation. So I have been calling back for 3 days and nobody answers the phone. I don't want to look like a freak so I have only left one message, and still no return call. So, now that I am done whining, Does anybody know any specifics on this set-up and is that the real price? I have heard that it costs like $800 not $925. Does anybody have this piping kit that can send me pics? JGY wants to make sure the kit will fit the Aveneir (sp?) turbo before he sells it to me. THX

I'll try to answer this post without sounding like a dick, so please bear with me. I work at Hotshot, and since the beginning of this week, John (owner of Hotshot) and his wife (who runs the office) have been on vacation, and will continue to be on vacation until the end of next week. This is the only time since I've been working there (about a year and a half) that either of them have taken any time off for themselves, other than traveling to races. The person working in the office is fairly new, but is able to answer most questions. The reason he had a hard time talking to you about the IC kit is because we only sell one maybe every 2 months. He hasn't had to deal with that product yet, and since it is not one of our 'standard' products (the kits are made to order) when someone calls to inquire about one, either myself or John usually deals with the customer. When you called earlier today, Andrew (the person answering the phone) gave me the message to call you back, but since I am doing the work of about 3 people this week, I didn't have a chance to call you this afternoon. I will call you first thing in the morning if you still want to discuss the kit.
You have to understand that Hotshot is a very small operation. I'm sure when you called today (and managed to get through) there were two other calls on hold while Andrew talked to you, and probably a third talking to our answering machine. At the same time, I would have been out in the shop building a fixture, making sure the right headers were being bent, building a prototype, all in between loading and unloading the CNC machine. I'm not whining, just trying to give you an idea what goes on.
***answer Your Damn Phone!!!!!!***
someone did earlier today, and they told you I would call you back. When you called back later this evening I would have answered the "damn phone" but (a) I was in the middle of something, and (b) it was after business hours (6:15 pm) when you called, so while doing my work I got to listen to you leave a very immature message on our machine, without leaving your name or number. Thankfully, you posted on the internet so I can have a chance to field your questions on my own time. I just got home from the shop; it is 10:04 pm.

The intercooler kit Hotshot manufactures is designed for the Bluebird Turbo parts. It includes:
an HKS front-mounted intercooler, with brackets
all intercooler piping, from the compressor outlet (triangle flange) to the TB
Intake piping
MAF adaptor
Air filter
OEM-style BOV and return hose
all necessary couplers and hose clamps
a 3" downpipe with flexpipe, bolts to the cast factory turbine elbow.
The intercooler piping is 2" dia. The intake piping is 2.5" dia.
In reference to fitting on the Avenir: Everything should work just fine, with the exception of the compressor outlet tube. The compressor outlet tube in our kit is designed for the bluebird turbo, which points up towards the valvecover. The tube has small 3-bolt flange which bolts to the compressor outlet and then sweeps up and makes a U-turn down between the fans, where it meets the second piece of IC piping at a coupler. The avenir compressor outlet is very close to where these two tubes meet, and may work with the kit with some minor modification and elimination of the U-turn section. We have not prototyped a tube specifically for the avenir application yet. In the past, we have sold the kit to an Avenir owner who wanted to make it work, so we included a couple of extra Ubends and a flange at no charge so he could make any necessary modifications. I'm sure the same concession can be made for you.
Re: Pricing
The complete 'kit' as listed above (IC, piping, downpipe) is $1100.
The downpipe by itself is about $300-350, and the IC kit without downpipe is approximately $800. I say approximately because I do not work with sales, so I am not 100% sure on the exact retail pricing for the items seperately. The $1100 complete price is the correct retail price, and Hotshot will gladly sell any of the components seperately as you need. I just don't know exact component pricing.
I hope this answers some of your questions, and if you have more, please let me know.

Thanks for the reply Andris. First off I want to say that I did leave a message with my name and number and it was polite and to the point, so that was another frustrated customer of yours. It is very frustrating to have cash in hand and not be able to get the info I need to order this from you guys. Maybe you should change the message on your answering machine to say something to inform customers you are understaffed and overworked for the next couple of weeks so please be patient. I am a field tech for a phone company and I deal with customers every day and I know how it is to be overwhelmed. I do appologize for the somewhat negative post. If you can reply to me I would appreciate it. Either by phone or by Email is fine. My name is Jason and my cell # is 801-835-7886. Thanks for the reply.

I would like everybody to know who is reading this thread that Andris from Hotshot call me today on my cell and we talked for about 1/2 hr. First off I would say that he sounds like a stand up guy and makes me feel better about buying Hotshot products after an incident I had in March of this year. He answered all of my questions and gave me all the info I needed. I sorta felt like a jerk for posting that thread, but hey it got me some answers. When the owner gets back in town Andris said he would have him call me and give me an exact price on the kit minus the downpipe. He said it should be around $800-850, but wasn't exactly sure. That price sounds good to me. A HKS intercooler, silicone couplers, clamps, and all manderal bent piping that is coated for the price above.
