ok, think of a tree trimmer breaking down the bits of tree......you know that annoying sound it makes....well I have that sound somewhere under the hood of my car when driving. It only happens in spots, and very briefly between 3000-4000rpm, but quieter and subtle... not as loud as a tree trimmer lol, anybody ever have this noise come up before? any hints...comments.

If it's consistent between one rpm range then somethings loose and resonating at that rpm. I have Nismo mounts in my car, they vibrate the shit out of my hood, trunk and me at many different RPM's. I always think somethings wrong but it's just my car vibrating to pieces.

Keep in mind guys that engine vibrations and sounds will change if the car is moving or not. It depends on if the engine has a load on it when it is revved. I kinda doubt that your tranny is the problem. Its just going to be a matter of examining stuff to see if its rattling anywhere.
Check heat sheilds, Mounts, Belts, Belt driven accesories. Those are gonna be the most likely culprits of NVH (noise vibration and harshness)
Good luck

how to check the belt?
is it by checking the pulleys?(if its loose or somethin) or actually checking the belt itself?
if its means checking th ebelt itself. how do you do it?..and what to check out for?
thx
