I have a question. Just the other day my best friend Chris (nismoser) and I were replacing my transmission. (long story) So, we got done, took it for a test drive and noticed my batter light was on. We went back to his house, he broke out the voltometer and it showed that the alternator wasnt working. So, i drive it home with my battery light on and when i just about made it there the batter light went off. Just yesterday i borrowed Chris voltometer and checked it, and it looked like it was back up to around 13.5 to 14 something. Does this make any sense?? Should i replace the alternator to be on the safe side. What do u guys think..?? Thanks in advance.....John.

Mine was intermittent like that. The lights would come on for a while then go away. Eventually, it stayed on and the volt meter registered around 12v.

I replaced it ASAP after that.

Atleast you're getting some warning that it is about to go out. Mine went out without warning. My suggestion, replace it now while you are still easily mobile.

True, I ordered one up today and chris is going to be the man and pick it up for me on the way to a honda/toyota meet tomorrow!!!
So, hopefully by tomorrow afternoon, i will finally have my car on the road again. Thanks for the info guys.

Or, if you're REALLY brave, you could call your g/f to drive 30 miles to where you work and follow you home w/ jumper cables. That's what I did. :D
