Here is a pic of my intake plenum. It is filled with both caked on oil and wet oil as you can also see in the second pic. Is this caused by the oil separator? Should I do the 'Oil Separator Reroute'? Or is this just a result of the intake not ever being cleaned in 15 yrs/179K miles?

Also, is there anything else I should do to the car while I have the intake fully removed?

I recently replaced the PCV. Which gaskets are you referring to? The big metal ones for the intake?

i have done this about 1ce a month, just clean the metal gasgets and put back together with blue sensor save silicone on the gasgets (7 bucks for a lifetime tube basically, dirt cheep) i have never had a problem doing that. one thing you can do for 2-3 hP is buy a brake caliper hone and hone out the intake, make it smoother than stock, helps thorottle reponse and is a noticible difference. only about 20 bucks to do that.

Thanks so much for the replys. With my intake removed, is there anything else I should attend to? I see what looks like the rear engine mount, is that accessible enough from the bottom?

idk if honing the intake will get you 2-3 hp.
