Ok, so it turns out the rep I talked to was a noob because they will ship to Canada. Talked to another guy today and it's all good.

Is it because he hadn't heard of Canada?

The guy sounded kinda young. I asked him "Can I get a kit shipped to Canada?" and he flat out said "Sorry, we don't drop ship to Canada". I wasn't about to ask him for a manager since it's a long distance call. I went to the web site and the drop downs in their shipping info page does include Canada and international but the shipping charge won't show up in the checkout. You have to complete the checkout and then they contact you later with the shipping amount. I went to their website a couple years ago and there was no shipping option outside the US so something must have changed.
