My buddy is opening a smog shop in the next few months. he will be hooking up smog for us sr20 powered vehicles. especially ones who have det's. prices will be negotiable. This is a courtesy for us who drive sr20's who can't get anything CARB legal. Honda guys don't even try. they can just anything CARB legal. we can't.
i will update you guys again in a few months. i will not say the name of the shop right now.

Too bad he can't do anything for those of us in Texas. :D

you lucky that you are not in california. cali is strict on smog. i dunno about texas though.

We're right on Cali's heels. We just haven't conformed to the Nazist laws. I just wish they would focus more attention on the cars that are blowing funk out of their exhaust and those danged semi's and buses. I do give props to Dart for using natural gas on their newer buses.

i intentionally did not mention the name of the shop. this is just going to be a short special for us sr20 owners in SoCal who don't get anything smog legal. this guy is also a devoted sr20det owner and knows whut you guys have to deal with. just remeber, this is for nissan owners only. this is a big risk we are taking to keep sr20's on the road. especially det's and ve's. i know you guys are gonna give us some shit on why this is only for nissans. like i said, thers not a lot of stuff we can get smog legal. this is NOT a referee station. this is just so we don't have to waste time taking our crap out and putting the oem just to pass smog. i hope there are no environmentalist reading this.

well keep us posted, after i smog my shit in oct i will be going det and want to be able to get by in 2 years

Well I have no emissions at all were I live. Kinda cool, but then again it would be nice to be in Cali. with other SR20 people. I think the closest to me is Eric96ser, and he lives at least an hour away.

so exactly what is the state of cali looking for? and do all DET's have terrible emissions? i just figure if you can get away with passing the test once every 2 years then why not? after i installed my CAT i passed my emissions testing here in IL and then i went back to running my car without a cat, i have a test pipe and when its time to pass the emissions again then i will replace my CAT pass the tes again and repeat the same thing over and over again, what they don't know, wont hurt them.........

That is how most people pass the emissions part of the test - I have even heard of a double set of CATs... The state is just looking for money CARB in doing the visiual.
