Hello I am a newbie But I waited my 2 weeks and anxiously Here it comes. This is my third 91 sentra the only se-r of the bunch but They kick ass none the less so please bear with me.

A god awful time happened 5 months ago when I down shifted to second to blow by a slow ass car. I then heard a tapping noise. Finally three days later she died of an apparent problem of having no oil in the engine. Had synthetic in for 2K and mysteriously dissapears no oil spots nada.

I finally buy a motor from sun japan in Ca they have great feedback and excellent Price. Now the car runs good except before I was spanking (Early 190hp model) lasers eclipses the works now it feels like I could Get spanked by something so much smaller than these.

Q#1 would this fall into the timing setting *** it feels pretty slow
Q#2 Has this happened to anyone else
Leading to #3 I bought the car in Feb it was a little decked Exterior wise But On the test drive I hit 135 from what Ive seen on other sites it has a governor of sorts to shut off at 125 so
Q#3 Is my computer not stock?
Thanks to anyone who could help *** personally the old ser was quick as hell everyone in town thought it was turbocharged and was begging me to sell it but what im cruising in now seems a mere shadow to its predecessor. Sorry so long but it is my first time. Next time ill be to the point.

yeah that happened to me too, after i shot a rod thur my block inym old sr20 i had it the engine replaced with a JDM engine, and it too felt kinda slow, what i did was i adjusted the timing to where i had it, made sure that all of the bolt ons were there, i.e plugs, wires, intake etc. and i had my clutch machined so that it would grab better, try some of this as you might be surprised.....

Check for the missing timing. It's probably set too low if it feels real sluggish.

Yes, odds are its the stock computer. Classics have no governor. But to check, first look for a JWT sticker on the computer. If thats not there and you still think its something funny, open up the computer. If its just one board, its the stock computer. If its two boards connected by a cable thingie, and one of the boards is mostly bare except a big long chip looking thing, its not stock. If its a JWT board, it should have JWT and a revision number stenciled on the board. Oh, you probably weren't doing 135 either. The speedo is notoriously off up high. Not that it really matters. :)

Thanks guys Im glad that this happened to someone else and im not the only one. I never seen where the timing was set on my old r but ill search until i find the best setting. Another thought I had was that maybe the altitude difference maybe was affecting it but maybe not! Also yeah it said 135 but I was sure stunned how fast it got there so that probably explains it. And last a Test Drive is just that a test I deliver Pizza, People want it hot !!J/k;)
