my car has this problem that when i drive it on the highway for more than 15 mins when i get off the high way my car really soudns like a vw bug or something it put puts and i have to drive it easy the rest of the way home after geting off the highway and i hear a ticking or clanking noise in the motor under the valve cover but the next day when i start it up or after leting the motor cool i dont hear the noise anymore and the car runs fine any ideas? im just a sr20 nut trying to keep his car as long as posible before haveing to get a jspec but i would really like any ideas of what could be going on with my car the noise happens on the highway or when taking long drives and i drive at like 70 and when i get off if i down shift i hear it start then the rest of the drive from the off ramp to my house i hear this noise and hear my car it sounds like a 74 bug or something and i cant get to it cause i never hear the sound durring the day i usualy only use the highway at night i need ideas what is detonation should i get new spark plugs or wires car has 94k on the clock andi changed the plugs at around 89 k so i dont think they are a problem the wires are sumitomo i duno if those are factory and might be really old or be replaced ive only owned the car for the last 6 months the cap and rotor were both replaced and the oil is changed every 3k miles
