Actually.... You can do a phantom grip...

There's a huge writeup in the september/october issue of Project Car.

Their "project blackflag" is a SE-R with a DET swap, and they go through the entire removal/prep/install of the engine, WITH PICS, and in the same issue they put a Phantom Grip in there, and they show you with TONS of great pictures.

(PS: Everyone should buy this mag, it is awesome)

phantom grip may work "okay-ish" with a VLSD, but on an open diff it makes 0 difference on launches. Maybe in corners it "works". But that's about it.
