: Help!!! Problem With JWT ECU

I just got back from the Dyno session at Rosen. I put down 171whp so we began looking for the issue. I found that the TPS never registered 4 volts no matter where I adjusted it. I was right around 3.28-3.45 or so (didn't write it down). I finally finished the dyno and came home and did some more checking. The reference voltage going to the TPS should be 5 volts. It was 4.28. Ground was good. I then switched out the JWT ECU for my DE ecu and then the reference voltage went up to 5.07. Obviosly I will call JWT on Monday but does anyone have any ideas on what is going on. Is this normal for a JWT program (I am sure it is not but thought I would ask). Thanks in advance.

I have a JWT ECU for my SR20DE. With throttle closed I'm seeing 0.48 volts; at WOT I register 4.16 volts. Sorry, but I've never heard of anyone experience what you're seeing. :(

I was just thinking that maybe I should have posted this in the Technical section and not the VE section. It is really not VE specific at all.

This is an issue with the 98+ cars. I'll send you some emails from Ray K. about how to fix it. YOu disconnect some sensors related to the EVAp purge controls.

Its only an issue if you have a 97 or earlier JWT ECU in your 98+ car. I don't know if the G20 ECU in the 98+ cars does this or not.

Here's the fix:
Disconnect the 3-wire sensor that is connected to a black box near the gas tank filler tube. There is a 2-wire sensor near the 3-wire one, I left the 2-wire connected.
Disconnect the 3-wire sensor on the firewall near the intake manifold labeled 'BOOST'.

(for offroad use only) :o

Did it make much of a difference?

Yes it did. It now idles correctly and seems to accelerate better. My butt dyno is all out of wack. I have driven the car with the stock exhaust and with a 2.5 inch that gains me 12 whp. Switched it twice now so it is a little confusing to tell what my car has (basically, I haven't driven the car more then 5 days without making major changes). I will be dynoing again this weekend. Thanks again.
