i went to the track, and my best was a 14.2@96 on street tires and with the oem cat. my kills inclded a mustang cobra and 2 z-28's. i am happy with the time, but the 13's are so close, i can taste them.

Way to go! Start taking some extra weight out of the car, and you'll be in the 13's .:)

2002 Ford Ranger (My Beater) http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/thefinger.gif

:p J/K man. Good job! A little bit more tuning and you can brag about 100+ trap speeds!

What are your current mods?

I managed a 13.8@104 with full interior, street tires (Nitto555), spare tire, jack, and tools in the car. Crappy 60ft times of 2.3/2.4.

I had a small downpipe (2.25") but a 3" exhaust, still had BB topmount but with a ghetto scoop, profec B set at about 12psi.

Don't push the boost too much or you'll have another project! :D

If you beat a Cobra and two Z-28's, I'm guessing a slow track that night. The Z28's should be able to bust 13's stock. On a good night you'll probably be in the 13's.

Hey Jody, so how much boost were you pushing when it blew? And do you know why it did? not a big enough maf? fuel pump?

i am running a bb det with 6.5 psi of boost, full interior, 2 1/2 turbo back with the eom cat in place and a ghetto scoop for the stock tmic. the tires are nearly bald goodyear eagle rsa's, set at 16psi.i have done nothing to the motor so far, but i can say im impressed.
on the way home, my friend(a 1g talon awd turbo, 16g turbo, 17psi of boost) we decide to do a 60-100, and were neck and neck. then we do a 40-100mph, and again were neck and neck. he was impressed, and said he doesnt believe im only running 6.5 pounds of boost.

I will say, if the stock T25 is in good condition, the motor is very strong! I did the 60mph start (in 3rd) with a slightly modded C5 (exhaust/filter).

We started with me two car lenghts ahead and I didn't get passed until a much higher speed  We talked later and he was amazed and highly impressed that it took him as long as it did.

I now know what detonation sounds like on the sr20...it wasn't what I expected it to sound like, that's why it was too late when I did notice it. I call it a "vibrating pebble in a tin can."

When I noticed the detonation, it was spiking at 1bar (~14psi).
I had it set to .9 bar (12.6psi). Call it 13psi. The cause: not enough fuel or spark to handle higher boost. The solution: the eternal project. And when you get better ignigtion and fuel delivery you can upgrade the turbo! ;) And then, you'll need more braking...yada, yada, yada...

Get a test pipe for you car. It will feel like a kick in the nuts.

i am hoping with a test pipe, i will break the 13's on street tires and stock boost.

Hmmm... guess i'll keep the high boost setting to 10psi then :) Lots of ricers here in Gainesville, I've had a couple cars try to race me already... TRY that is....

i have my slips

1st run, i am # 46
-----------17 --------46

---------- Left-------- right
r/t -----.479 ---------.135
60' -----2.329 ------- 2.541
330----6.311----------6.426
1/8-----9.637----------9.599
mph----72.83----------77.81
1000---12.484---------12.324
1/4------14.848--------14.656
mph------96.24---------96.47

i wasnt stopped for a staged and the guy running the lights started them, so i redlighted like a mofo. the car was a 94-95 mustang cobra with the 5.0 L motor.

2nd run

-------46----------------60

r/t----.616-------------- .628
60'-----2.297----------- 2.611
330----6.269------------6.643
1/8-----9.471------------9.900
mph----77.02------------75.35
1000--12.205------------12.663
1/4----14.543------------14.986
mph----94.82--------------95.69

this run was against a newer z-28, and i didnt realize it was a woman driving until the race was over

3rd run

---------84---------------46

r/t-------.537-------------.526
60'-------2.516-----------2.264
330------6.615-----------6.090
1/8-------9.833-----------9.249
mph------76.32----------77.96
1000----12.583---------11.966
1/4------14.908---------14.296
mph------96.27----------96.19

this is the ass who will never be beat by a 4 banger and doent care whats been done to it. after the run, he stopped me and said his clutch slipped. i dont think so, if his clutch slipped, his tires wouldnt spin as well. 1 word for him dumbass

last run

---------46--------------81
r/t-----.546--------------.865
60'-----2.252------------1.740
330----6.019------------5.197
1/8-----9.168------------8.084
mph----78.00------------85.34
1000---11.880----------10.576
1/4------14.207---------12.683
mph-----95.34----------107.19

i knew i would lose this one, full rollcage, slicks, helmet. but it was fun.

hey guys, is a test pipe just a straight pipe instead of the cat??
then you can just pop the cat on/off before and after runs?

i = newb

Yes, but ideally you would run it all the time then switch it out for emissions purposes.

Or ideally, you'd run the cat all the time except for at the track for us green types :)
