okay. my car has been making a pretty loud grinding noise from the rear end for some time now. my father thinks it's my wheel bearings. at first i thought it was my tires, but after a while it turned into more of a grinding noise that gets louder as you speed up. when you turn, it gets a lot louder and deeper. it was making this before i installed my rota's, so it's not my wheels. any ideas? thanks.

try this...drive the car and tur the car side to side, and which ever side makes more noise the it is the opp. side whel bearing..
turn left----then its the right rear bearing

I had a similar sound, and it turned out to be the caliper freezing up every once in a while. But the wheel bearings are a likely cause as well.

it was the wheel bearing. the thing was so fried that the left rear wheel could move around in any direction. it was ready to come off. i'm glad i took it in when i did. it was fixed, and now the sound is 110% gone. now i hear my exhaust leak, though. it's one thing after another with this car.

i think mine might be bad... i have a slight griding/rubbing sound when im driving around 30 mph, i can hear the sound bounce off the curb or parked cars... it almost sounds like the breaks are on a little, but when i push the pedal nothing sounds different.... how much to replace the bearing(s)???

Mine ended up being $180. That's the part, and the labor included.
