Just wanted to share my polishing kick... I actually did this a while back... I just got done doing a lil touch up and buffing...
http://www.basedonbass.com/Download/photo46.jpg
Took me two weeks to make it this bling bling.. ICE. :D
Just sharing some ideas I had and how to get it to this par..
For the letters, I found this WAY HARD... The only thing I cound use was a drimmle. To get into the tight spots.. however still is a lil ruff in between the letters... Any Ideas??
The rest of the VC was done using hella grades of Sand paper.. I used the drimmle to get the pores shaved down to the a slick feel. However I found this to be a lil risky.. being that the drimmle will make some nasty craters if you dont watch out.
Anyhow.. over all it was fun and it turned out nice..

Damn that looks really nice! I really couldn't get out the stuff in between the letters either. I just focused on the easier parts after getting nowhere w/ the letters. Make sure to always clean it off everytime you look at your engine, because my VC is showing a little bit of oxidation after 4-5 months.

Has anyone tried to put a coat of clear coat paint on after they polished there Valve Cover?
Me and my dad spray clear coat on a lot of old moldings that come off of old cars. Works like a charm and usually last a few years before you have to clean it off and do it over.

BTW,
the Valve cover looks really good SUB.
Where did you get your vacume hose kit from? I want to do my
throttle cable and don't know how much of what size to get.

Mine is hose techniques, and sub's probably is as well. You can order it from hose techniques, or any speedshop. Subs looks really hot because his just looks "cool." Blue and silver always look hot together. I think you need something like 6 feet of hose to cover the throttle cable. HT has it on their site. www.hosetechniques.com

Wouldn't it just like....wipe off? I'm no paint expert by any means but I would think it would just fall off or something. The only thing I would do diferent is just make sure that every time you open that hood, take a towel to it. I'm going to have to touch mine up when Iget around to it :p
