someone pulled the plug out of the MAF on my sisters 97 maxima the other day (while the car was running). now, the service engine soon light is on. when it happened ( i wasn't there ) they called nissan and they said to unplug the battery (duh) so i did that. let it set for about 2 hours, and it still didn't go off. any ideas? from what i heard, when this idiot pulled the plug out, it stumbled and then he plugged it back in. after a moment the car sort of corrected itself and started running normally. what do you all think?

yeah, pulling the battery doesn't really clear the check engine codes. The most sure way of doing it is resetting the ecu. I'd assume the procedue is the same as for the se-r. You just gotta figure out where the ecu is. JWT's webpage has the location of it.
