ive searched searched an searched..........
i have not even found anyhting having anything to do with this question.
simply put: will an sr20 bolt to a KA tranny?
ive got a guy interested in buying my SR who just bought a KA powered 240.
i am just trying to go that extra mile as a seller and do some legwork for this guy. he knows NOTHING about the tuner world but is very interested. so much as that he sold some of his american muscle to fund a 240 project.
i am assuming this wont work with all the info i didnt find. but just asking anyway. i know nothing of a KA and a 240.
thanx guys :biggthump

You must not have searched thoroughly, to be frank. This info is to be had on pretty much any 240-related board.

Simply put: no, it won't bolt up.

BUT, the trannies are the same, minus the bellhousing. Swap the SR bellhousing onto the KA tranny, and you now have an SR tranny.

Edit: wait, back up. If the SR you're selling is from a FWD car, it won't work in a 240, period, regardless of what tranny you have.

Sorry.

whats the point? he wants an sr20 in his 240. and i want to sell the sr. money in the pocket is good :)
is it a motor mount issue? different cast in the block?

Cliff's notes: mounts are wrong, intake mani points the wrong way, distributor against the firewall, tranny bolt pattern all wrong, etc. etc etc. Could it work? Yes. Would a RWD engine be cheaper and much easier? Yes.

I have a RWD tranny with an SR bellhousing taking up space in my garage. Make an offer if you or someone you know wants it.
