Is this a good idea for the oil return??I know a friend of mine that did it on his DSM and is fine. Can we do this to the SR20??

No, it's not a good idea to drill the pan. Remove the pans and drill the block. There is a bump on the block where it should be drilled, it's directly below the crankcase breather.
Cheers,
Charlie :)

I drilled the pan and it works fine...I think its much safer reason being you screw up taping the block and your done for.... When I get a chance Tom I will show you how mine was down...

Drilling you pan on our cars is a bad idea. the oil pan is to shallow. You will be trying to drain your turbo oil in to a space that is already occupied by oil, thus backing up the oil in the turbo and causing undersired affects to the bearings/sleeve bushing.
