: 425 people arrested on Westheimer in Houston
Any of you down there? I was in the parking lot next to Cartoys for a bit..some gay fight broke out between a spec v owner and a couple guys in a 'teg. That pretty much reminded me why I hardly ever go to those things anymore. I was there for a supposed Accord meet and it never really happened. About 30 minutes after slapping match (it was so very pathetic), we decided to just jet. We start cruising up Riceheimer then turn around and see around a police 'copter above the K-Mart/Sonic parking lot. We drove by and they had about 3 paddywagons and 1 prison bus. Every exit was blocked off. They arrested around 425 people for loitering, etc.

Anyway I was riding shotgun in a hybrid 4th gen Accord Wagon (runs 13s..very nice. :))video taping a bunch of stuff. I got the whole bust on tape.
Anyone else out there?
Mike sr20de 08-19-2002, 01:12 PM dude that sucks! I'll bet somebody's going to be fired over this. tons of lawsuites will follow. post the video, I want to see!
dono200sx 08-19-2002, 02:27 PM And that my friends, is why I stopped attending the street races in Dallas. I have a feeling it won't be long before Dallas follows suit. (Not to mention I almost got a street racing ticket a year ago when I was just watching)
Sr20kidD 08-19-2002, 02:32 PM oh well

Oh i can't wait for the fireworks to ensue. Waiting to get a video capture card then I'll u/l the video. A part of it is blurry because of all the flashing lights (camera couldn't focus, but w/ all the lights you get the idea).
They have an interesting thread about it over on houston-imports.com. Actually the best part of that thread is when they're talking about the fight. Two on one and the best they did was tear the guy's sleeve. I need to check out ICCH to see what they're saying.
Oh, and like 10 mins after some guy laid his bike down in the middle of traffic. Shaved an entire side off of it. There are some dumb people on Riceheimer.

tommy 08-20-2002, 09:50 AM Whoa, the captain in charge was Mark Aguirre, former Dallas Maverick forward. :p
I don't think we will have any problems with a meet as we will most likely get the permission of whoever owns the property we will meet on. Also, I doubt we will be meeting at 12:30am.
dono200sx 08-28-2002, 07:18 PM Boy... Aguirre really lives up to "pig". I wonder if any of the people down there are going to try and get him fired.. I would...
Slartibartfast 08-29-2002, 01:28 PM There are now at least nine HPD officers with lots of time on their hands. A $100,000,000 lawsuit has been filed against the city, and it's not yet a class-action!

You have a news article link to this?
BTW, anyone else find it interesting that no news network has covered this? If it has please tell me/correct me. I haven't heard a word about this up here in Dallas. Hm..
Anyway, I'll be back down in Houston this weekend. I'll be down and around Westheimer. If any of you are out there look for a burgundy accord dropped on freaking ugly TSW VX1s. :) Make sure to say hello..We're trying to get some film together for one of the web boards I mod.
Slartibartfast 08-29-2002, 04:51 PM Nope, heard it on the news last night. I'm sure you can browse houstonchronicle.com to find more.
Big Bust Story (http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/metropolitan/1552982)
"Thirteen police officials -- two captains, two lieutenants and nine sergeants -- have been suspended with pay in the wake of the arrests, including Aguirre. One of those arrested has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the city, and other suits are expected. "
