: NASA-MA 1 hr sprint in NOV
awdracer 10-22-2008, 03:24 PM Hi All! Cobetto is considering scratching the 4 hour enduro and replacing it with a 1 hour sprint race on Sunday morning. I'm lobbying for enduro classing that would allow SM, SO, 944cup, PTE, and PTF to all run head to head.
If you are interested, tell Chris at nasaforums.com in the mid-atlantic region section.
I'm in. Wade's in. Anyone else?
nasa ser 10-24-2008, 10:57 AM i'm in until my car breaks:squint:
of course that assumes it is still running after saturday
ps. although i will point out that sat's race at summit in october is the first race this year i didn't start or finish, every other race i have been to the car has started both races and finished both races ;-)
much better than last year where the first race the car finished on sunday was the ocotber summit point event  Hi All! Bring extra zip-ties...... :dunno:
Melissa 10-26-2008, 10:18 AM Looks like Chris still hasn't made a decision on this... if I knew all my DE sessions wouldn't be pushed to the end of the day on Sunday, I'd sign up... as much fun as October was, I'm probably going to stick to my original plans of going to the ARRC.
awdracer 10-28-2008, 11:19 AM 1hr sprint on sunday is confirmed.
Who's in????
nasa ser 10-28-2008, 11:40 AM i'm in
awdracer 10-29-2008, 07:44 AM The updated list is out....
So far we have John, Wade, me, Steve, and Todd. Is Eric available for both days? Has he fixed his car? Has anyone heard anything from Darrin?
-S
nasa ser 10-29-2008, 08:10 AM eric's in for sat, he has to work sunday so that is out (he just hasn't signed up yet)
Darrin told me at the last event he was coming....he also tends to sign up late
d15b7 10-29-2008, 03:54 PM darren blew the motor on his Teg at Thunderbolt (valves hit pistons).
he told me had had bought a junker motor from a yard last weekend, and is working on either installing it whole, or swapping out the cyl head. he's trying to make it, guys!!!! someone get Rosen/(joe henderson) moving on fixing up the black SE-R, and we can have a full on PTE Rumble!!!!! :)
Joelamite 10-31-2008, 09:44 AM :iagree:
Hey I can only do what I am told to fix.
I told him last time he needed a battery.
Guess what did him in during his race!!!!
I am going to start going thru the car between races, fix whats needed then give him the bill. No more only fixing what broke last time.
He needs to put a cap on his jew juice!!!!
you know I love you E
Rosen will not be there for the last race.
Harper paid me enough to make sure his car would not work this weekend.
I told E that it needed a part that will not be in for two weeks to save him some gas money.
I may bring it up however to see what I can do in PTE!!!!
Joe
you do know I am full of poo.

Sweet.
awdracer 11-04-2008, 11:12 AM Joe, FYI, there is another car in your class this weekend. Ken Passmore signed up in his Diasio.
Go get him!!!
Also, we're up to 6 in PTE. That could go to 7 if Darrin shows.
d15b7 11-04-2008, 03:23 PM darren is out. his motor is still at the machine shop in pieces. i talked to him today, and he said 'have fun' and 'i'll see you guys next year!'.
nasa ser 11-04-2008, 03:54 PM too bad about Darren, does the "see you next year" that mean he is not selling the car ??
ps. anyone got some rain tires i can borrow ;-)
ps. todd i looked at the rules and you are right about the weight ;-), i had remember the rule wrong/mis-read it.
although can you run your hoosier wets with that suspension? ;-)
d15b7 11-05-2008, 05:04 PM i don't think that the market is there at all to sell a racecar; no one is really making any offers on his car....
and yes, i had checked out the weight rule, and was sure i was 'in the right'; i figured you had misread the section a little bit.....
i just looked at the forcast, and i don't think its going to rain (but, gosh, i sure WISH it would!!!!! :biggthump ); i have loaded and packed the rain wheels/tires, all the same, though... and yes, i have points to run them; if i put them on, i have to ballast up the car some more, to make sure it is at the correct weight for the rain tires (i've got the ballast bars in the trailer, and the holes are already pre-drilled in the floorpan). i've also replaced my lightweight battery with a huge DieHard unit, and thusly was able to remove a bunch of ballast, while at the same time remaining at the same weight. so, yes, i am A-OK to run the rain tires, if i so desire!
although, i think i could beat you guys with my bald RA1s, in the rain.... :D
it'll almost be no fun running with my rain tires on; but what would be the use in having purchased those used rains, if i never use them????

nasa ser 11-06-2008, 08:20 AM todd, have you ever run those rain tires? i couldn't remember if you ever had the chance to try them out to see how good they were.........
ps. i'll run my bald hankooks if you run your bald toyos ;-)
(of course, i'll run them in the rain no matter what cause its all i got ;-)
nasa ser 11-06-2008, 08:21 AM how about sunday's race, i have some old hard compount hankook's left over i may throw on there for sunday to use them up , although if they are reaaallllllllllllllyyy slow, i don't want to use them?
scott, wade, you guys using regualar tires on sunday or do you have some junk tires to run?
awdracer 11-06-2008, 09:18 AM Wade and I are BOTH going to be on a brand new set of Hoosier R6 purchased specifically for the Sunday race. I'm not sure exactly what a "fun" race is. The only thing fun is winning.
Gotcha.
I'm going to be using a set of old R6 that have been heat cycled to death. Wade will be on whatever he ran with from Saturday....or maybe an old set of R1's.
d15b7 11-06-2008, 12:39 PM hi steve!
yep; i bought them used very early this year ($150 bucks, baby, for all 4!). the guy i got them from ran them on a bmw; they are a couple of years old, but have excellent tread. anyway, i ran them once, in wet practice, at VIR; i was amazed at how easy it was to drive fast on them in heavy rain! i think i was the fastest in PTE by 5 or 6 seconds during that practice session. then, it dried up, and was in between conditions (remember that race?). i ran on my street tires, which was a terrible choice, because by then they were totally worn out from all the races the previous year, and they were terrible....
and i think i'd LOVE to run a wet race where we all ran on used up bald tires! that would be a HOOT!!!! :biggthump
todd
