anyone in the Maine NH area have a VE engine installed and are willing to take me for a ride

i'm wondering about the low torque numbers in a ve compared to a de. though i have to admit ive never ridden in an SR20 either. i've got a ga16 right now. but in the future- withen 5 years, i plan on fully restoring and upgrading my 93 Sentra XE 4Dr. im talking about a full makeover from engine to interior cloth, to a Paint Job i want a super sleeper, which is why i'm interested in a VE. no turbos to give away any hints to unsuspectiong victoms.

heck i'm sure a SR16VE would do just fine for me. all i want is a great road touring car with cheetah attitudes, but not too fierce for everyday driving.

Jim might be at the Boston/Providence/Seekonk/NENOC/SER/NISSan meet on Sept 13th. You should come and check it out.

hmm, a friday. i might be able to make it. the only obstacle is my unfimiality with Boston, and no one else to go down with. really none of my friends are car people in the true hands on sense. i may try to coax my friend nate, who owns a 95 200SX SE to come along, but he doesn't like to drive in Boston. oh yea, being on a friday he either would be working or in a class. luckilly i dont' have a class on fridays this sesmester.

PS i don't have to pay if i'm there only to observe right? cause 65bucks to tell me that my stock GA is slow...
and the paintball dosn't interest me that much.

My ve with the cams not engaging and a bad TPS switch had the same to a little better power mod for mod as a de. It also pulls the same as a de. I lost to a classic (similiar mods) with a 98 SE (heavier) but not by a lot. I had a stereo and alot of stuff in my car that he did not. I also had the stock exhaust. All this was with the cams not engaged (under 5K). Drive a pre 95 de with a CAI, headers and exhaust, The VE will feel slightly better then that up till 4300RPM and then it will be no contest at all. The VE will idle much smoother then any de with JWT cams.

did you get that fixed? how does the cams work ecatly? does it monitor the tb and switch when you give it more gas or is it an rpm thing only?

EDIT: oh wait, i think i read that the wrong way, your cams ARE working, you just weren't USING them at the time.
