Your NX is far more powerful than mine then. I had my NX up to just under 130 in desolate West Texas going slightly downhill with the wind, and it just wouldn't go any faster. That was with JWT ECU, cone filter and exhaust. The NX's power just couldn't break through the aerodynamic limitations.

I remember having my stock ecu... after gettin the g20 ecu, you dont even notice how fast you go right by 109.

fastest ive done is 140, and it felt like it would still go more, but i slowed down.

B13 SR20 ECU: No speed governor
B14 SR20 ECU: 109 MPH governor

That is judging from what I've read in the past. (road tests, etc.)

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I put my car up to 120 MPH when it was stock and when I was stupid.

i have tested my classic before and i dont believe that there is a governor, i had it up to like 120 +/-, i was on the expressway at like 4 in the morning on a sunday morning and it felt as *** it could take more, i slowed down after like 10 secs because i had this feeling there was a state police somewhere ahead of me so i got scared, by the way does anyone know by any chance what would happen if i got caught doing 120 in a 55? just curious....

Hey guys,

Is there anyway to find out whether there is a governer or not
in the car on your own?

---

I bought my Sentra just under a year ago and from what people
have said, the cars came governed but after taking it on a stretch, I managed to get it to do 210 km/h (about 130mph) and
had to let of the accelerator cos of a bend approaching. (I can't remember the rev's, I think it was about 6000 rev's). The
car was standard at the time and is still pretty much the same
today (except for a exhaust modification and filter)

You are correct. The stock B14 dynos in 3rd gear to prevent hitting the rev limiter in fourth. I have seen many stock ecu classics dyno in fourth and they don't hit a rev limiter. I had my stock computer B14 up to about 115mph at a racetrack and didn't hit the governor. Speedometers are always way off. So is my tach, 8000rpm is really about 7700 rpm. Live and learn.

in IL you'd be arrested and get a 500 dollar reckless driving ticket. losing your license would be a possibility.

True, the b13 has no govenor but the b14 does. 109 sounds about right. I know the classic i believe was drag limited however due to its not so aerodynamic shape. I believe the classic is supposed to top out around 126 or so. I have also read that the Nx2k, being more aerodynamic, tops out at 135. You must also keep in mind that our stock speedos are off at those kind of speeds.

In Texas you would probably go to jail, get the reckless driving ticket, they'd probably fine you for the miles over, and more than likely revoke your license. Not to mention anything else the cop decides to tack on there. If your in Mesquite or Garland, may the force be with you. The cops out there are @$$holes.

BTW, I don't have an SR20, but my 95 GA16's gov. cuts me off around 109-115. So I would be sure your SR20 does also. If you don't like the gov. just call JWT. They'll make it all better. :D

whoa! i guess my 120 MPH days are over either that or i gotta get a really good fuzz buster lol, and even if i did get caught they would have to prove that i did that much speed, the burden would be on them to find me guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, um i would all of a sudden have amnesia lol...........nah no more speeding 4 me.......

Be careful saying that though, because the 91-93 G20 ECU was OBDI and won't work on a B14.

Don't do it in New Jersey. I recieved a 90 in a 50 ticket over 2 years ago and almost lost my license for 60 days (deservingly). 120 in a 55 will get you a visit to a State Trooper barracks (if you're on one of their roads) and you will be walking for quite some time after your convicted.

ive had my classic up to about 125 or so, but the speedo was probably off, and i wasnt wanting to hold my car at 6900 rpms for 30 seconds, so i let off , i dont think it would have went any faster anyways, too much drag

Uh  I didn't know this was a thread about ECU swaps.

If that is the case, then I'll add this:
