Hey guys, I got my ASP underdrive pulley today. I must say I really like it. The car revs up a lot faster and it seems like it is running a lot smoother also. The pulley is quite a bit lighter and the alternator/air conditioning pulley is a little smaller. The water pump/power steering belt is the same. I believe it's weight is the same as the UR pulley along with the specs. The difference is the ASP is only $119! I got it shipped to my door for $125. If you are interested here is the website...

the only question I have is, how tight is tight enough when bolting the pulley back on? I used a 1/2" drive with about a 1.5 foot breaker bar to put it back on (same thing I used to get it off). Do you think this is tight enough? Thanks!

Well, your "torqueing" tool is rather primitive! Good for loosening bolts/nuts but BAD for tightening. You MUST get a proper torque tool. In all probability you have already overtightened it! This said, the torque for the stock pulley as per FSM is 105-112 ft-lb . I am assuming you are asking about the crank pulley.

On another note, do you actually have the dimensions and weights of the two pulleys????? It would be very interesting to compare them with both the stock and the UR set!!!
I think that for the UR installation both of the involved belts were different so there may be some difference in the dimensions.

But for $125 shipped, they are definitely aworth a GOOD LOOK!

Plesae respond if you have the measurements.

pulleys are almost identical. the UR weighs 1 pound 3.3oz and the ASP weighs 1 pound 3.6oz. The alt/compressor belts are the same for both, looks like the other belt is a tad bit smaller on the UR than the ASP. The main reason I went with ASP is because I have their pulley on my 300ZX and have never had any problems, and they were a lot cheaper. I am not modding my 200SX but I had to replace the crank pulley (the other one split the balancer and outside pulley apart!). So figuring that there is a possibility that in the future I would mod the SE-R I went ahead and got a lightweight pulley. It is actually cheaper than the stock one too....stock=$159, ASP=$119

I also just wanted people to know that there are some other brands out there, and maybe it will save someone some money....

Thanks for the Info.
However, I may have misunderstood your initial post.
Is the ASP pulley you bought ONLY the crank pulley?

I am asking because Sentra-listas who only had the UR option until now tend to think in terms of the Ultra S kit that UR sells, and this is both the Crank and the Water Pump pulley.

If the ASP is just the Crank then it is still way cheaper than the UR and OK as a necessary replacement. If however someone wants to go the "kit" route then UR is still the only game in town.

I really didn't look into the whole kit just because all I needed was the crank pulley. I just looked in terms of cost for JUST the crank pulley. I will do some checking on a full kit and post later.....sorry for the confusion!
