Im running unorthodox pulleys with some belt that doesnt have the timing marks on it. How the heck am I suppossed to check my timing? I know it's not that far off cause the car be running good but still I'd like to know if there's a way to do my timing withhout the marks on the belt??

The timing marks are not on the belt. They are on the pullies. But I remember reading that earlier generation UR pullies had the wrong timing marks on them and/or they were missing.

You might be able to do a search on here for that info or some one could chime in with more info.

You have to find a long metal rod to put down no.1 plug hole with the plug out, find a way of turning the engine over very slowly until the rod is at it's highest position. If you are on the compression stroke (valves closed), this will be top dead centre. Put marks on the crankcase and on the pulley, lined up of course. This will be your zero setting. Making marks at 5deg intervals clockwise of this on the pulley will involve measuring of the pulley circumference and working out the distance around the circumference per degree (i.e. Circumference/360).

how old are your pullies. I can find only one white mark on mine. My pulley is several years old. I wonder if newer UR pullies have the marks and older ones dont.

Ever figure out how to set your timing? I'm having problems too.
