is this catback system or axle back?
See below:squint:
Chops@MVP 03-25-2009, 05:52 PM I assumed as Nitelife said it was catback as almost all their systems are but this specific one is a REAR SECTION ONLY.

Robert

Chops@MVP 03-26-2009, 02:29 PM Quote direct from HKS:
RobertatMVP (11:24:29 AM): LES-N04
RobertatMVP (11:24:49 AM): people are posting in my thread with links all over the net saying it's a catback and you told me yesterday it was axle back
RobertatMVP (11:24:55 AM): any way you could double confirm for me please
HKS(11:24:58 AM): 1 instock
HKS(11:25:36 AM): technically its not direct cat back
HKS(11:25:48 AM): esp if its the first flange after the cat
HKS(11:26:02 AM): but most people try to call it that
RobertatMVP (11:29:27 AM): so this does NOT bolt on to the rear most cat?
HKS(11:30:16 AM): its after that
HKS(11:30:31 AM): you can say its a cat back
HKS(11:30:44 AM): if you need to post for people
HKS(11:30:56 AM): but its not really directly off the cat
HKS(11:31:31 AM): people call most systems cat back when its directly off the cat
HKS(11:31:43 AM): some cars have small flanges that extend past the cat a little
HKS(11:31:49 AM): that would not be considered cat back
HKS(11:31:58 AM): but the general public calls it a cat back
HKS(11:34:13 AM): i suggest if you want to go with the masses
HKS(11:34:21 AM): just list it as a catback then
HKS(11:34:29 AM): we go off more accurate terminology here
HKS(11:34:31 AM): as you know
Regards,
Robert
Nitelife 03-26-2009, 02:42 PM Thanks again for doing some extra legwork to figure this all out Robert. Now that is customer service!:biggthump :biggthump
Chops@MVP 03-26-2009, 02:45 PM Not a problem sir! That is what MVP is known for and don't plan to change that anytime soon.
Regards,
Robert
TommyD241 03-26-2009, 04:29 PM If it has a B-pipe that connects to the cat and a axle-back portion that connects to the B-pipe, then its a cat-back exhaust.
jingjing 03-26-2009, 09:01 PM any way to have an actual pic of the exhaust to verify it is an after cat system?
Chops@MVP 03-27-2009, 12:13 PM HKS does not have any pics on file. I will take a pic of it once it arrives here.
Regards,
Robert
Nitelife 04-03-2009, 11:45 AM Did anything show up Robert? Sorry being impatient.

Nitelife 04-11-2009, 02:44 PM Great customer service all around from Robert at MVP. Super price.
This is what we would consider a cat-back exhaust, despite how HKS decides to define it.

TommyD241 04-11-2009, 05:00 PM ^^^ Very nice exhaust. I just have the muffler welded to 2.5" tubing and I love it.
Chops@MVP 04-14-2009, 05:46 PM Thank you for the pictures Nitelife. My shipping department sent it out so fast I didn't have a chance to check it out :(. Glad it was what you wanted.
As for the B14 question, HKS does not list one so if you guys can give me the name of the one you would be most interested in I will be glad to put them on sale for you guys :D.
Regards,
Robert
