Ok so I took my car in to get my free oil change when i brought my car a few months ago and by that time I had put my pop charger on my car. And after I got my car back and the mechanic asked me about my pop charger and I said i put it on. He said that pop chargers and short ram intakes can lead to engine problems. He also asked if I did something with the motor to Compensate for the extra air going into the engine. I was just wondering if this was true or if you do need to do something to compensate for the extra air going in. Or if pop chargers can lead to trouble? I thought the computer automatically compensates for it?

datz incorect info...the mass air flow sensor's in our car measure the airflow and the ecu's in our cars' adjust the fuel trim according to the table maps programmed....the best intake piece u can buy is the jwt popcharger....reason why is it reduces the turbulence entering into the the maf...which makes it easier to read the air and give correct voltage values to the ecu...
i personally bought a popcharger
night and day difference...instant throtle resonse and growl
and stops the stumble u *** get when just getting a aftermarket intake with a wack filter
p.s. the best dam tech's and research are found here on this forum for our nissan cars'..

That mechanic doesn't know what he is talking about, at least for Nissans, maybe cars with MAP controlled A/F it might be different.
IMO one of the best Intake mods that you can do.
Also, if it did anything bad to our cars, dealers wouldn't sell it.

Most guys don't run them but it is a good idea I'd say. There is no company unfortunately that makes one. I run a piece of hose from the lower bumper hole to the engine bay. I guess you have the fog light there on the B14 though.

Pop Charger + Short Ram Pipe = FTW! He must not know about our engines. Your car is thanking you for letting it breath.

Yeah I have a 1999 sentra SE thats a b14 right? If it is then i won't beable to do what you did. but i'll probably make something up. Even though I live in WI and during the cold winters it probably won't be a bad idea not to have one lol.

I brought my B13 in couple of years ago to a Nissan dealership, due to abnormal Idle.
The tech ram and raves about the regular filter and bitch about the JWT POP, he stated the same thing about engine damage. Well, that just because they wanted for your to replace your air filter every freaking 3K along with the oil change.
