Does anyone possibly know what may be causing a loud squeal after letting off of gas and engine is falling back to idle rpm. this only occurs after engine is hot. I have found that the noise is coming from around the egr valve... and have put a different egr on it. which did not help. i also found that if you lift up on the egr it stops it from sqealing but once you release it the sound comes back.
if anyone can give any assistance please do.
Thanks alot,
casey loudon

Well, in my car i have a small K&N style breather filter on my AIV where a hose used to connect to the stock airbox. I have the same noise you describe, which is normal if you have any type of aftermarket intake setup and have a small breather filter. It will only make the noise when letting off the gas while the engine is decelerating. Once again, its normal if you have what i described above. If it annoys you that much, get a hose of the same size as the opening and make sure its about 5-6 inches long, and place the breather on the end of that. That will stop the squealing noise. Or on the other hand, this might not be your problem at all. So good luck!

well i dont have an intake on it yet.. but it still comes from around the intake manifold or somewhere down there. recently we noticed that if you turn on the AC that the noise seems to either go away or die down to a very quiet noise. my dad thinks it may be the air intake for the AC. or a leak in one of its hoses. he wants to know where the air intake gets its air if anyone knows, and thanks also for any suggestions...
