For those of you who do not know, John Minnic aka ProjectSE-R in Louisville, KY, has a problem with scamming people like me out of parts/cash.

Here's my post detailing the troubles: http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20862&highlight=ProjectSER

Avoid buying/selling anything to John Minnic in Louisville, KY at ALL COSTS. He will rip you off one way or the other. I am not the only one on this forum who has experienced this, but I am the only one who will post about it.

He is a scammer and rip-off artist extraordinaire. I'm out $210 total, 8 months later. No email returns, no answering his cell when I call.

Avoid him like the plague. You have been warned.

Actually, if you REALLY want to get technical Greg. What you told me, IIRC, and I do, is:

" Pay me when you can John "

Now you tell me, Have I not been returning your emails or phone calls? When was the last time you actually tried to call my phone??? It has been over 3 months has it not???? Maybe even 4. Have I not told you that I was trying to get things together? Hmmm, yes, maybe so. When you go whoring threads in peoples' home cities because you have a vague recollection of past events, that makes you look bad, especially here in KY.

Now, I believe your replies have been:

" Thats ok, just whenever you have some or all of it, shoot it my way "

Now, as far as scamming people, you are taking this shit a little too far hoss. Name one person other than yourself that a deal has not gone according to plan? Hmmm, can't name one can you? DON'T YOU GO TRYING TO DRAG MY ASS THROUGH THE MUD, BECAUSE ITS THICKER IN KY THAN WV! ;) You want to try to nail my ass to the wall or whatever you said in the email to Jeff, thats nice. You wish I would grenade my tranny, thats nice. I hope you never place above 6th in every autocross event from here on out. Hows that feel? Not nice is it? You know I had and STILL have every intention of paying you Gregory but as you know I have (1) a new edition coming into my life, (2) Split my tranny in half, (3) Blew a turbo to pieces, & (4) am having to pay rent on 2, yes 2 apartments because I let a little trust in friendship go too far. None of this is your fault and its not an excuse, its a FACT. A word that you seem to love using in your email to Jeff.

I went by your words when I was at your house Greg....

" Dont worry, just pay me when you can ". Well guess what, I cannot even afford a new O2 sensor for my car and by the way Hotshot, if you would have read your emails, the turbo I put on my car came from a friend in town off his RWD swap FREE OF CHARGE. So next time you feel you need to jump the gun and wish bad things to people, think twice.

John,

There's a certain person on this forum (who wishes to remain out of this) that you know things didn't go right with.

Keep him out of it, for obvious reasons.

Bottom line: 8 months have gone by, $210 ($180 in parts, $30 in FedEx shipping) is still owed. Not $1 has come my way in that time period.

" Pay me when you can John "

Yeah, understood but 8 months is a little long. Don't ya think. You could have paid him $10 a week and it would have been paid off already. Thats less than gas. Thats just common courtesy.

Maybe I just don't like to have things hang over my head. I would have paid him a long time ago.

Reason #1 is all reason to be understanding, granted. But #2-4 has nothing ot ddo with Greg.

I hate to take sides but I been on the other side of the fence.
But if you and Greg are real good friends then all this should have been settled off the forum.

This all comes down to maturity. A mature person would take "pay me when you can" and pay them in 2-3 months, MAX. An immature person reads that and thinks "as long as you pay me before one of us is dead and buried."

An immature person in the kind of situation you are in John would also keep his turbo setup and replace parts of it when it breaks. A mature person would sell off the go-fast parts and return to NA while he got his life together.

NOT WHEN IT IS YOUR DAILY DRIVER!! "AND" only mode of transportation, no, I don't agree. And tell me just how in the hell I am supposed to run a DET engine with modified JWT ECU as an NA car? Arent there issues of running rich as hell which can lead to frying my piston rings as well? Then there is another frigin out of pocket expense that I am burdened with. Do you think I actually like replacing broken parts on my car, no, not hardly. I do enjoy this 500 Vs. 1 gang-attack though when there are only 2 people on here that actually know the WHOLE story and what was said. I am sorry, but the most important thing in my life right now is making sure my finace and baby girl are taken care of and if that pisses you off, or I am immature for being responsible, then maybe some people ought to consider getting caught up on morals. Right now, as I sit here, nothing, and I repeat nothing comes before them, not even myself.

So everyone go ahead and take Greg's side because he is older than half the members and has a post number in the thousands, kiss his feet since he contributes to the forum, or should I say, has more than 3 minutes a day of free time. By-standers have no idea of what my life entails right now or for the past 6 months, so don't go throwing grenades just because the colonel tells you too. ;) You want to bash me for a situation none of you know anything about, and if you do, its a distorted one-sided tale, then hop on his wagon and roll along.

By the way, the only reason I HAD another name was due to my lack of use of this one and lost my password. And the email account is invalid at the moment, so NO I could not have it sent.

Thanks for playing.

Not only are you immature, but you have no idea about how your car runs. Of course you can run on your ECU with no turbo, even on 8.5:1. You could have swapped JGY or someone for the DET and some cash for a JDM SR20, gotten some money back with trade of your JWT ECU with a stock ECU, etc. With the suspension, rims, and ALL the mods you have on there, you easily have a grand and a half waiting to be cashed in. But no, you have to keep the fast car. If I was in the situation you were in, not only would I sell the mods and return it to stock, I would sell the stock 95 SE-R and either deal with one car between the both of you, or buy like a $500 Metro or something to get you where you are going.

Not more than 3 minutes to spare huh? How come Insane PSI has 48 posts?

You need to grow up, and like yesterday.

John, you can explain your story as detailed as you want, but its still wrong that in the 8 months, you have not sent Greg ANY money. I'm not taking Greg's side because of his status on here, but because of the situation. Tell me you would not get mad if someone who owed you money didn't pay you a damn thing in 8 months.

I understand more than other people about being broke and having to deal with other issues. But like Ian mentioned, send $10 a week, do something, just letting time go by and giving excuses does not help your case.

 If your fiance and child are most important, maybe you should consider something other than "buying" (I use that term loosely since you haven't forked over any money) parts for your car.

So what if Greg has thousands of posts. Obviously, he is disciplined and mature enough to take care of his personal (and car-related) issues AND spend time here.

Respect is something you earn not something you get.

yes, that is so rediculous, You owe the man money, if I owed someone money I would work at a store a few nights a week and pay it off, I would get the money some how. It's understandable that you have to take care of your fiance and child but then you shouldn't have bought something that you couldn't have afforded, one thing that my dad taught me was avoid debts thats why so many americans get themselves into credit card debts, I never buy anything that I don't have the money for, Jon I wish you the best of luck and hope you get yourself out of your rut but it's not fair to Gregg that just becuase he is real understanding to take advantage of him. I hope everything works out for everyone, I really hate to see this happen..
